Surely we are still evolving.

I've heard it suggested that we(humans) have stopped evolving because now we are all selected(therefor darwins survival of the fittest proccess has stopped in its tracks for us- the human race!.). I think this is total trash!. I think as long as our greed for more than our fair share along with our violent hatred for our fellow man is in full force; there are still winners and loosers among our species- therefor natural selection is alive and well!.
Infact I think the ending of the process of evolution and the ending of war, greed, hunger etc will occur at the same time(but is this possible EVER while we are all competing for the earths same finite resources?).
Any thoughts?.

Although I don't believe in a god I am not without appreciation for meaningful and inspirational word's even those from the bible - when I hear these words I cant help feeling a shiver down my spine - to me it personifies all the generosity, courage and dignity of man.

Predeterminism

I got this idea from a guy in another thread he was talking of his interest in geological-predeterminism, which I think is an altogether different thing but it reminded me of this interesting theory anyway.

Anyway for those who don't know Predeterminism is the theory that the future is already mapped out, so in reality you have no free will and any discission you make was always going to have been made. Let me give a break down of how this works as I see it:

Firstly you have a kind of computer program injected from conception-DNA, this determines among other things your character(how you will react to a given situation, i.e. aggressively or passively). [Ignoring possible future advances in gene-manipulation] YOU CANT CHANGE THIS PROGRAM, IT INFLUENCES YOUR BEHAVIOR FOR YOUR ENTIRE LIFE.(Call this computer program A)

Secondly The evironment around you(people, places, advents) has affected you from the very start of your life and is continuosly doing so, what ever happened in your past will always influence in some way what you do in the present and future- YOU CANT CHANGE YOUR PAST AND IT ALSO INFLUENCES YOUR BEHAVIOR FOR YOUR ENTIRE LIFE.(Call this computer program

Believe it or not I find it so much easier to make enemies than friends. I cant even walk out of my apartment without thinking will that guy down-stairs who I keep pissing off with my music blow my head off :laugh: , or will that guy who keeps complaining about the trash(so I kicked it all over his front yard :laugh: )baseball bat me?, and then theres the ass holes at work, jeez. Anyway to cut a long story short I would like to say how much I consider you guys friends- Toots, Ariane and Affa are a few I can mention we have had many discussions :laugh: and I hope like I do you guys think I am an OK guy at heart. I was bored so I just though i'd comment on this: I suppose you've seen the guy who seems to have signed up just to link to his commercial site and posted it in several threads too.
