QUOTE July 24, 2008 12:01am
Article from: Font size: + - Send this article: Print Email FORMER NASA astronaut and moon-walker Dr Edgar Mitchell - a veteran of the Apollo 14 mission - has stunningly claimed aliens exist. And he says extra-terrestrials have visited Earth on several occasions - but the alien contact has been repeatedly covered up by governments for six decades. Dr Mitchell, 77, said during a radio interview that sources at the space agency who had had contact with aliens described the beings as 'little people who look strange to us.' He said supposedly real-life ET's were similar to the traditional image of a small frame, large eyes and head. Chillingly, he claimed our technology is "not nearly as sophisticated" as theirs and "had they been hostile", he warned "we would be been gone by now". Dr Mitchell, along with with Apollo 14 commander Alan Shepard, holds the record for the longest ever moon walk, at nine hours and 17 minutes following their 1971 mission. "I happen to have been privileged enough to be in on the fact that we've been visited on this planet and the UFO phenomena is real," Dr Mitchell said. "It's been well covered up by all our governments for the last 60 years or so, but slowly it's leaked out and some of us have been privileged to have been briefed on some of it. "I've been in military and intelligence circles, who know that beneath the surface of what has been public knowledge, yes - we have been visited. Reading the papers recently, it's been happening quite a bit." Dr Mitchell, who has a Bachelor of Science degree in aeronautical engineering and a Doctor of Science degree in Aeronautics and Astronautics claimed Roswell was real and similar alien visits continue to be investigated. He told the astonished Kerrang! radio host Nick Margerrison: "This is really starting to open up. I think we're headed for real disclosure and some serious organisations are moving in that direction." Mr Margerrison said: "I thought I'd stumbled on some sort of astronaut humour but he was absolutely serious that aliens are definitely out there and there's no debating it." Officials from NASA, however, were quick to play the comments down. In a statement, a spokesman said: "NASA does not track UFOs. NASA is not involved in any sort of cover up about alien life on this planet or anywhere in the universe. 'Dr Mitchell is a great American, but we do not share his opinions on this issue.' |

Why would he lie? I believe him and have felt all my life we have and are being visited. Look up ,you might be surprised what you see.

But again, he offers no first-hand knowledge, doesn't say how he knows, only that he knows, and he gives no specifics whatsoever except to confirm what people already say and believe. There's nothing new here. It's not that he's lying. He may well believe what he's saying. However, it doesn't really add anything to what we have, nor does it give us proof. It's simply another person saying "I believe in aliens."

So is this man, who actually was there and did walk on the moon, going to be dismissed as a kook too?

Don't put words in my mouth. I never said he was a 'kook'. I said he didn't say anything new. Which he hasn't. I'll go one further: he has not in anyway furthered our knowledge of or understanding of the alienufo phenomena. He's simply an astronaut saying he believes in aliens.

Why would he lie? I believe him and have felt all my life we have and are being visited. Look up ,you might be surprised what you see. Why would Nasa lie? Of course Nasa will not release everything to the public right away as they probably do not want technology leaked. Nothing wrong with not wanting technology leaked. No one likes it when their information is leaked that could possibly give competitors an advantage. If Boeing was on it's way to makeing an aircraft that runs off of Hydrogen, they certainly would NOT release it to the public because airbus, Canadair and Embraer would surely try to cut in on the goods. ________________________________________________________________________________ Nasa gives us substantial evidence of what they are doing and earns my trust. Unlike Mitchell who provides no basis on his claims of aliens what-so-ever. No detail. No pictures. No description. This post has been edited by Alitalia: Jul 24 2008, 05:33 PM |

Thats silly, NASA has no competition.
This Astronauts contribution is simply that he believes. Thats enough in itself. The very act of coming forward is risky and seemingly selfless. I would like to hear more from him. |

I would like to hear more from him. The European Space Agency, National space Agency of Ukraine, Russian Federal Space agency, Japan Space Agency, Chinas Space program, etc. etc. The China National Space Administration policy white paper lists short term goals as: build a long term earth observation system set up an independent satellite telecommunications network establish an independent satellite navigation and positioning system provide commercial launch services set up a remote sensing system study space science such as microgravity, space materials, life sciences, and astronomy plan for exploration of the moon Among their stated longer term goals are: improve their standing in the world of space science establish a manned space station. manned missions to the moon establish a manned lunar base. Just because NASA is in the space business doesn't mean they are in competition.
A space program is just a step in a country's evolution. Its not a sporting event. And if it was NASA would win btw.. |

I wasn't actually responding directly to your post (although mine did go right after yours) I was responding in general how that it doesn't matter what someone's credentials are or where everyone knows they've been, their testimony is dismissed. Dr. Mitchell, in my estimation, is one of the few people in the world who's word I would almost take without any other evidence, not quite, but almost. Again, I was not posting in response to you or else I would have quoted you, sorry it seemed that way. Have a good one. The Admiral |
