What would happen After contact?

Ok, assuming for a second that there is intelligent life out there (Assuming they are freindly), and either:

A. The govt disclose information that aliens have landed and are continuing to visit our planet

B. An alien space ship lands in the middle of New york/london.


what would happen AFTER contact??? would we form a relationship with the species, would Earth representatives go to there planets? would we share technology? would we integrate them into society?

would people attempt to hurt them/see them as a threat???

Ghost plane......thaughts???

OK this isnt a personal experiance exactly (i was about 10 months old and being fed by my mum )

Anyway it was a normal working day, my dad was at work and my mum was feeding me, while talking to my grandad (RIP) this would have been 22 years ago or so.

Suddenly the room went totally dark, my grandad ran to the window and a GIANT world war bomber was flying over the house, no engines, just gliding ( Granddad recognised the plane from the war)

Apparently the plane was soo low it was in danger of taking off chimneys/tv ariels off, so that sent alarm bells ringing.

Now the strange thing is there were no airshows in the area at the time, they lived in a small village, the only airfield close by was a disused emergancy one from the war, where we later found out a plane had crashed killing its pilot in the war.

Grandad as soon as it passed went out in the car in the direction the plane went (out of curiosity and to see if there was an accident) , no sign of it, the airfield was empty and still in a state of disrepair, also non of the neighbours home that day saw the plane, he asked around for weeks.
Also he cheked to makesure there was no airshows a bit further afield.

So what could this have been???

Somebody going out for a spin in a bomber, and there was technical difficulties which cut the engine, affected the altitude but was solved and averted danger.

Somebody messing about in a bomber??

A private show nobody knew about??

An airshow that they didnt know about (on a week day, on a place where there has never been an airshow to my knowlage)

Or Paranormal?

Whatever it is i have heard the story for years, and it facinates me, the thing is, my mum and grandad are the most sceptical people i know, everything paranormal they try and use logic to give an explination, this is however one thing they have never explained, despite going to great lengths to find out what it was.
