I'm with most people, that Crop Circles are man-made.
This one may be more challenging.

Any thoughts?

Here's one reply out of the many at the bottom of the article. Take it for what you will. I tend to agree, but would like to see some independant research on this:

Sorry but this total and utter rubbish.
All these formations are man made and it's people like this guy above making false claims that keeps this rubbish going year after year.
It is very easy to fake the making of a crop circle. It's been done before.
These people will not except that there is no mystery in these and try to make one.
How do I know this. I know people who make them. Remember the Milk Hill formation in 2001. Its a fake. I know who helped make it.
It's not supernatural.
I'm not revealing names because the circle makers have been attacked both verbally and physically but crop circle believers.
They've been stalked by them and when they found a group making a circle, they then proceeded to stone them.
They are very artistic and those that make them go to a lot of trouble doing so but thats all. No mystery.
But of course theres no money to be made if theres no mystery is there?
This crop circle thing is well past it's sell by date.

This fellow seems to be refering to the rope & boards or manual way of producing them.
If the report is as it says, then his comment in that respect would be undoubetedly "total and utter rubbish".

He didn't refer to the board & rope method at all. Some of the groups that make these circles are university students & professors. Most of the patterns are mapped out using topography & cad software, so it stands to reason why many of the circles can't be seen from other circles, and many of the circles are actually ovals, but appear to be circles from above. This kind of abstract is common in land-mapping software for 3d models.

Mapping does not produce physical crop circles.
If faked someone has to physically go there, after, the mapping to make the pattern.
Do they not?

Of course, I didn't mean to imply otherwise. That's why I would like to see more independant research on this, to verify the claims.
