Wow, according to this article, the crystal skulls may be from outer space! While studying the crystal skull in the Smithsonian, they found this mineral that ONLY exists naturally in METEORS!

QUOTE
Seeking the verdict of science, researchers from those two museums examined the skulls with electron microscopes, ... The investigators ... found a black-and-red deposit in a tiny cavity of the Smithsonian skull. X-ray diffraction showed it to be silicon carbide -- a tough compound that only exists naturally in meteorites

So they made it from a meteorite? I know meteorites can be made of glass, but I've never seen one that clear, even if polished.

No, no. It was made of crystal, but imbedded in the scratches were minerals that in nature are only found in meteorites!

To anyone who doesn't know me well: yes, I'm aware my post completely misses the point of the article. I'm being ridiculous in order to make a couple of points.

So the point is that by purposefully leaving our the last bit of the quote you can make it say something that it actually doesn't, and thereby attempt to add legitimacy to a ridiculous claim?

It's a good point anyways. When in doubt, go to the source wink.gif

Yes, that was one of my points.

* The crystal skulls have been scientifically determined to be fake.
* If my title had been 'crystal skulls found to be fake', I would have had 10 replies by now arguing why they're real.
* Not enough people read the source
* Some people don't seem to see anything except that which fuels their fantasies.

Damn... I read about these ages ago when people still thought them genuine. People thought they were polished with sand. Now they are fake? That's disappointing.

Even IF they where real, the only thing that would suggest is that the ones who made them carved them using meteorites.
