Should most “Ghost investigation groups” be banned

I say yes they should.

The reason why I say this is because since programmes like Most Haunted and Ghost Towns have hit our TV screens its brought in a new and unwanted wave of people with interests in the paranormal, who randomly start there own so called investigation teams, because they want to be like there Most Haunted heroes, and are basically thrill seeking and wanting to feel important. They also embarrassingly always end up in conflicts with other groups because of rivalry and jealously and childishness, now this applies to most (but not all) of these amateur groups, most of them only know what they have learnt from TV shows on Living TV or have read a book or two on the subject, then go around claiming to be professional paranormal investigators, and booking places, or invading old buildings or properties, such as abandoned buildings and graveyards, most of which will show no respect for the places at all, this in turn gives serious investigators a bad name, and in the past have had locations completely closed to the serious investigator because of Most haunted fans incompetence. Graveyards have been closed to the general public because of these wannabe teams that run around chasing dust, insects, and moisture and even there own breath and cigarette smoke, its got the the point where its become frighteningly embarrassing, these people are not even willing to learn or hold alternative view points and add nothing constructive to paranormal investigation at all.

I am talking from a UK point of view, but from talking to professional American investigators they are having the same problem too, because of shows like T.A.P.S.

Also because of these shows, and rising interest, “investigation” type of tours have started, basically businesses cashing in on this kind of thing, also making real paranormal investigation look like a money making scam targeted on making money from the gullible.

Should there be some official kind of requirement or qualification that has to be gained in order to be classed as a worthy paranormal investigator, to weed out the thrill seekers, and uneducated orb and Acorah fanatics that have damaged the occupation so greatly that the serious paranormal investigation community as been lumped in with the amateur thrill seekers as a huge joke?.

Many use blind faith as there only tool, when "investigating" which amounts to no evidence at all. Faith is fine, as long as it isn’t the main tool of investigation, as that makes it look stupid with no solid content.

Paranormal investigation used to be mostly about finding evidence, for or against the existence of paranormal phenomena, and also the study of the Occult and supernatural, and to even convince the public that it is in fact real. Most of the amateur groups and shows that inspire them have had the opposite effect, and convinced more people its all a joke, and made people more sceptical because of the mindless mentality of these thrill seeking groups, who don’t seem to have the education to even simply investigate things as simple as what orbs are, or understand basic things such as ultrasound and automatic suggestion, and refuse to look at things as the facts state, but rather to continue to remain ignorant, so that they can continue on with there thrill seeking orb fantasies that all there dust particles are King Henry the 8th fuelling the ridicule real paranormal investigation now has to suffer.

Wouldn’t some kind of qualification weed out these damaging groups, as you need at least common sense and an objective mind to gain the qualification. And without the qualification, should it illegal to conduct any investigation in the name of paranormal research, or pose as a paranormal investigation team?.

Would this work, and put real paranormal investigation back on track?

I my self am not a paranormal investigator, I prefer the study of the paranormal my self, and have only been on a few investigations, but with experiences teams who have been in the business long before Most haunted ever came about.

I don’t think views should be banned, I just think to protect both the credibility of serious paranormal investigators and the locations that are investigated, something should be done to stop the people only in it for purposes of jumping on the bandwagon, and to look cool, or to mimic the rubbish we see on TV.

I think when starting as a serious paranormal investigator you need the following assets. Objectivity, an open mind, a certain level of scepticism, honesty, reasonable knowledge in the field, respect for both location and its history, and respect for the dead, and no ego, and most of all a genuine interest and need to find out more about the unknown.

This doesn’t apply to every team out there that is amateur, just to most of them. You know who you are!!!

David Icke: Was he Right? Channel 5

Tonight 26th December 2006, Channel 5 11PM

Personally I find David Icke a very interesting character and his beliefs intriguing. I don’t believe in much of what he believes -ie the reptilian thing, although he is entitled to believe in what he wishes, no matter how out-there it is, believing in reptilians is not more outrageous or provable than what most religious people believe, its just that religion has become the norm, so its become more acceptable, so I find it strange why people hate him with such a passion, and have to make up untrue propaganda about him. If he is such a lunatic and wrong, why do so many people go to such lengths to demonise him and make him look evil and crazy?, such as the media saying he called him self “the“ Son of the Godhead, when he actually believes everyone is the son and daughter of the Godhead, not just him as the son of God, he clearly states he’s nothing special, but the media don’t tell you that.

Although I don’t believe in much of his beliefs I do believe in many of his political and social ideas and theories, which many have now turned from theory to actual fact, so I wonder what more could he be right about when it comes to how the world is going and what the world might be heading into?.

The program tonight looks into his political ideas on who rules the world, and if (as he believes) the secret rulers are a sinister force in the world, that are trying to mentally enslave the human race through the media, religion, and political ideology ect, with fear, emotional black mail, and the divide and concur tactic, to force people to allow the governments of the world to take away there freedoms and liberties for so called protection from our enemies, when in fact its just setting us up and making it easier for the secret rulers to bring in a Fascist Totalitarian Orwellian police state.

He also states that people are kept more concerned about what is happening in there favourite soaps and with celebrity worship, so that most have no idea what is going on right under there nose, or care about how we are slowing being mentally imprisoned.

Hellish Near Death Experiences

I have been studying NDE's for quite some time, and anyone that’s investigated them will know its a fascinating subject, even if you don’t believe its anything spiritual.

Now I respect one such Dr that studies these things called DR Jeff Long, but was pretty amazed how he never spotted a certain "NDE" sent to him of a hellish experience, as being frightening Christian propaganda.

Now i believe in life after death, and near death experiences as being spiritual and do believe that Hell (if you want to call it that) exists, but this following yet interesting and intriguing so called NDE is obviously a scare story aimed at frightening people into "accepting Jesus" I would have thought Dr Long would have spotted this a mile of. Look how the author uses caps lock when describing the more terrifying points in the "NDE". Here is there account............

i prefer to remain anonymous because of what I have suffered at the hands of those who do not believe me.

It was about 2 years ago, I remember it like it was yesterday. I was getting into my friend Gareth's car.
It was his dad's car and he wasn't supposed to have it in the first place. I don't know how he got hold of it. I remember he had been drinking earlier that night. I knew he wasn't supposed to be driving it but I remember really needing a lift home because it was late. We had been arguing the whole trip about something, stupid and in a moment of rage, he slammed onto the accelerator, hard and tried to do a U turn. Now that I think about it, I remember it was his way of scaring people into shutting up; he was nuts like that. Gosh, next thing I knew i was being wheeled into a big room on a stretcher. My chest and head felt like I'd been punched in places with metal or something.

The next part is really, really vivid. I definitely remember this. Seconds later, I started to float out of my body and go through this weird tunnel of light, like I was on some weird drug or something. I didn't know where I was going but I knew that I couldn't control where I was being sucked to. I couldn't stop or turn or anything. Everything seemed fine. For a split second I thought I was headed towards heaven but suddenly something happened. I stopped dead, in this tunnel and like a bolt of lightning I started to fall, faster and faster and faster.

I felt like I had literally just dropped vertically and was headed towards this sort of black hole. It was so dark I felt I could cut with with a knife. Still falling, I began to hear screams, cries, agonizing pain, horrible, horrible laughing and the most putrid smell you could ever imagine, then the blackness turned into fire, and I was falling towards a huge furnace. Fire began to consume me. I started screaming. I didn't know where my sound was going but I knew I was screaming hard. Landing on my back, I suddenly crashed to what seemed like rocks and felt a horrible pain all over my body or whatever this new form was.

Opening my eyes I suddenly realized I wasn't alone because creatures, things of some sort of distorted form started to grasp at me, one by one they grabbed me and started to drag me towards what seemed like huge black gates. I began kicking and screaming, yelling at the top of my lungs for Allah or Buddha or God...whoever I could remember hearing about in RE class to help me, but still nothing came. I remember one giant creature began to rip at the skin on my back with what seemed like his sharp nails, another began to tear at my hair so hard I felt the urge to throw up.

Another kicked me down and started standing on my chest laughing, teasing me about personal issues he seemed to know about me. Such as my mother dying at birth, my sister in prison and my friend Gareth driving the car that had killed me. I so remember the smell, it was so vile like rotting flesh and burnt hair. Their raspy laughs and taunts at me were almost drowned out by the roar of the flames around me. I suddenly saw before me people running and screaming, a group of children no younger than 12 years old crying each one being terrorized and literally pulled apart by these malevolent beings. I definitely remember suddenly seeing Gareth, (the guy in the car with me)- he was hung upside down with nails driven into his hands and feet, almost like Jesus on the Cross (i had remembered reading about that in class a few weeks ago) the creatures began whipping him simultaneously, all chanting in a language I really didn't understand. Fire had now consumed what he was nailed to and the flesh on his hands and chest and head had already begun to melt and peel. I looked at his face, he was TERRIFIED!!!! He began crying uncontrollably pleading with them to stop.

My body or soul or whatever you wanna call it suddenly began to burn badly from the fire spread on this ground. I suddenly cried out again 'God please help me'. I suddenly realized that the more I cried out God's name, the more they tried to hurt me, the angrier they got, the more agitated and frustrated they became. 'God please' I finally begged seconds before deciding to give up and suddenly a great
suction tore me from their grip and started to carry me back through the tunnel. I suddenly awoke to the sound of a female doctors voice.

I remember her telling me that after 2 hours of resuscitation I had recovered but Gareth had not. Apparently as they were trying to revive him his heart gave way, it just gave up the fight. His time of death had been confirmed half an hour before mine. And after months of therapy, trying to describe all I had seen my friend I met in college... a Pentecostal Christian... explained to me what I had encountered. she counseled me for about two weeks telling me scriptures in the Bible that
described Hell and outlined everything I had seen. And then one day, there and then right in the middle of my College Campus I gave my heart to Jesus. To this day I swear I can still smell that rotten smell of burnt flesh and burnt hair. I used to actually get feverish every time I think about Gareth, and where he might be to this day. I still believe I know where he is, and where I don't want his little brother to be whose is now 14 years old. Sharing my testimony with friends and family who didn't believe in 'all this religious stuff' still claim to this day that, in their opinion I've seen one to many horror movies. But this was no movie, there were no credits, no logo's at the end of it, NO!, this was REAL!!!!

All who read this I pray please let this be a warning to all those who have not accepted Jesus Christ into their hearts. In my Near death experience I saw what waits for those who reject Jesus. I've seen the horror that is more real than any film or show could ever be. AND I PRAISE GOD to this day that he gave me that second chance so that now I can work for him. For all those who aren't sure please don't wait till its too late to find out the truth I did. In Jesus name call on him NOW! Don't wait... I'm 22 years old, I thought I had years ahead of me before anything like this would happen. I was very nearly wrong. God Bless all who read this and believe on God and his Precious Son. Amen!!

The world's largest energy company is still spending hundreds of thousands of dollars to fund European organisations that seek to cast doubt on the scientific consensus on global warming and undermine support for legislation to curb emission of greenhouse gases.

Data collated by a Brussels-based watchdog reveals that ExxonMobil has put money into projects that criticise the Kyoto treaty and question the findings of scientific groups. Environmental campaigners say Texas-based Exxon is trying to influence opinion-makers in Brussels because Europe - rather than the US - is the driving force for action on climate change.

"ExxonMobil invests significant amounts in letting think-tanks, seemingly respectable sources, sow doubts about the need for EU governments to take action to reduce greenhouse gas emissions," said Olivier Hoedeman, of the Corporate Europe Observatory. "Covert funding for climate sceptics is deeply hypocritical because ExxonMobil spends major sums on advertising to present itself as an environmentally responsible company."

It has long been known that the oil giant, which in 2005 recorded an all-time record for quarterly income, has spent millions of dollars to fund climate sceptics. Exactly how much is unknown but some estimates suggest $19m (£9.7m) since 1998.

In its 2005 report, Mr Hoedeman's group details payments by ExxonMobil to two organisations the International Policy Network, which received $130,000 and the Centre for the New Europe (CNE), which received $50,000.

The Observatory suspects Exxon has also funded other groups engaged in undermining legislation. Its report said: "There is mounting evidence that many EU-focused think-tanks are heavily funded by corporations and this raises serious concerns about their agenda and their independence." The two groups cited in the report have long been accused of denying climate change. Greenpeace's ExxonSecret website notes that in 2004 the network issued a press release criticising the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, saying it had "intentionally exaggerated its estimates of temperature increases by using highly implausible scenarios of future growth in emissions of greenhouse gases".

Greenpeace also lists a 2004 posting on CNE's website which claimed: "The Kyoto Protocol is failing because it is ineffective, costly, and unfair. It is also 'scientifically flawed'."

Last year The Independent revealed how a US-based lobbying group which received substantial funding from Exxon was seeking to develop a Europe-wide network of think-tanks, journalists and major businesses to act against legislation to counter climate change. The organisation claimed its approaches had been flatly rejected.

Kert Davies of Greenpeace said: "Europe is leading the world right now in terms of climate policy. Exxon know that if they can [enlist] lobbyists they may be able to slow things down. That is the tactic right now."

Such is the concern about ExxonMobil that earlier this year the Royal Society, considered Britain's leading scientific academy, wrote to it asking that it stop funding groups that have "misrepresented the science of climate change by outright denial of the evidence".

Ellen Bisnath, a network spokeswoman, confirmed that the organisation had accepted $130,000 from the oil company. She said: "We are an independent think-tank and we are contributing to the scientific debate on climate change."

CNE's president, Stephen Pollard, said: "We did get a payment in 2005 for a project which had nothing to do with climate change." He said under his leadership CNE was "not in the climate change denial business".

In a statement ExxonMobil said: "Our support extends to a fairly broad array of organisations that research significant domestic and foreign policy issues and promote discussion on issues of direct relevance to the company."
