In honor of the pending World Series.....who is the best pitcher or hitter of all time.
I've always been partial to Ty Cobb and Walter Johnson/Christy Mathewson what does everyone else think? |

I think this is in the wrong forum..
Im not a huge baseball fan.. but I am going to go with Babe Ruth as a hitter. His records have been broken, but if you look COMPARITIVELY, he was hitting sometimes more homeruns alone than entire other teams and something like 50% more homeruns than the number two homerun guy. Best pitcher.. hmm... I dont really know enough to take an guess.. |

best pitcher: Roger Clemens Best hitter: Barry Bonds even though he probably took steriods. Though if where talking about just solid hitting give it ten years and it will be ichiro suzuki.

Pitchers, I'd have to go with a few:
Bob Gibson Satchel Paige Roger Clemens Sandy Koufax Nolan Ryan Pure Hitters, I'd have to go with a few: Roberto Clemente Ty Cobb Paul and Lloyd Waner Pete Rose Joe Jackson In time, Ichiro will likely be one of the alltime greats as well. |

This is a tough one. I'll go with the ones I've watched over the years.
My first would have to be Nolan Ryan, the guy was amazing even in his old age. Number two would have to be Tony Gwynn, the guy was an artist when it came to hitting. Number three would have to be Barry Bond, love him or hate him, give him all the steriods a man can take, he still hit the damn ball. Number four would be Rickey Henderson, greatest lead off hitter of all time not to mention his demon like speed. Number five would be a tie with Paul Molitor and Robin Yount, they did a little bit of everything. |
