It would seem that the KecksbUrg incident is back in the news.

She is suing NASA and now NASA is going to force the Military to disclose what really happened that night? I thought it was just a Russian satellite. I wouldn't get my hopes up. NASA is just pretending to care now because of a lawsuit. they'll just say they did a thorough investigation and came up with nothing new.

James Romansky a firefighter made a recent statement about being near the object seeing hieroglyphics on it. I wonder if he made this statement prior to the Roswell coverup story coming out in the late 70's. I wonder how many people saw the object make a turn.

I still believe that what came down in Kecksburgh is nothing more than Kosmos 96.
Almost all witness describe the object as an "acorn". The behavior of NASA and the military is also very similar to Operation Moon Dust mission which indicates the possibility of Kosmos 96 as the culprit. Leslie Kean was informed by NASA chief scientist for orbital debris, Nicholas L. Johnson, that this object did not match any known satellites. This is easy to explain. His data is for the booster (not shaped like an acorn) and not the capsule (again shaped like an acorn). This is logical assumption since it is booster that was expected to return earth while capsule was destined for Venus. According to "Handbook of Soviet Lunar and Planetary Exploration", Kosmos 96 exploded during during orbital restart resulting in 8 different pieces. What might have come down in Kecksburgh is piece of the spacecraft. These are my finding and many may not agree with this. Anyone is welcome to counter my argument. As a member of APRO and UFO researcher for the last 16 years, I learned that you must first dismiss any possible earthly explanation before declaring it as UFO incident. Rohn |

Here is an interesting article,
http://www.post-gazette.com/neigh_westmore...gwestmor1p1.asp Tell me if the life size replica of the object crashed on Kecksburg doesn't resemble the Kosmos 96 capsule.

(rohnds;334380) I still believe that what came down in Kecksburgh is nothing more than Kosmos 96. Almost all witness describe the object as an "acorn". The behavior of NASA and the military is also very similar to Operation Moon Dust mission which indicates the possibility of Kosmos 96 as the culprit. But isn't that a Soyuz capsule? According to Encyclopaedia Astronautica, Cosmos 96 was part of the Venera program for the exploration of Venus and was an unmanned probe that failed due to an explosion after launch, at a close date of November 23rd, 1965, sure enough. It mentions "abnormal seperation of the upper stages" and that at least one piece did enter orbit, although not in a manner it was supposed to. But I do not think that it would have resembled a Soyuz capsule. Is there any reason that you suspect that it was Cosmos 96 other than the fact that it was launched just over two weeks before the date of the Kecksburg incident? It seems implausible that any large component of the spacecraft could have survived the decay from orbit and the impact with the ground. http://www.astronautix.com/craft/vena3mv4.htm |

Andrew you are absolutely right. Kosmos 96 was Venera 3MV-4.
Thank you for correcting me. Rohn |

Why would any government reveal the obreptice tactics/schemes it uses to spread deliberately false information?

Perhaps what the locals saw was a plant like the Roswell hoax.
And was hauled out on the flat bed truck that EVERYONE saw. |

I think it was probably a russian satellite as well. I don't think the russians ever gave us back our spy plane they shot down (in the 60s?).
So why give them their satellite back. But if it was something not of this Earth, NASA will just say it was nothing more then Kosmos 96 falling out of orbit. The russians did lose it around the same time. The Russians stated it would fall some 12 hours or so prior but they might of just said that to throw the Americans off. Hoping it would comepletly break apart on reentry. The Russians probably knew exactly the location where it would hit. Right here inthe US. |

That would be a pretty amazing satellite, that could stay in one piece after a reentry.

WASHINGTON - NASA has agreed to search its archives once again for documents on a 1965 UFO incident in Pennsylvania, a step the space agency fought in federal court.
THE ASSOCIATED PRESS The government has refused to open its files about what, if anything, moved across the sky and crashed in the woods near Kecksburg, Pa., 65 kilometres southeast of Pittsburgh. Traffic was tied up in the area as curiosity seekers drove to the area, only to be kept away from the crash site by soldiers. The air force's explanation for the unidentified flying object: A meteor or meteors. "They could not find anything," one air force memo stated after a late-night search on Dec. 9, 1965. Several NASA employees also were reported to have been at the scene. Eyewitnesses said a flatbed truck drove away a large object shaped like an acorn and about the size of a Volksawagon bus. A mock-up based on the descriptions of local residents sits behind the Kecksburg Volunteer Fire Department. UFO enthusiasts refused to let the matter die and journalist Leslie Kean of New York City sued NASA four years ago for information. The agency has turned over several stacks of documents which Kean says are not responsive to the request, an argument that U.S. District Judge Emmet Sullivan agreed with. In March, Sullivan rejected NASA's request to throw the case out of court, resulting in negotiations that led to the agency promising last week that it will conduct a more comprehensive search. Kean said Friday that she sued NASA rather than the army because the space agency a decade ago released some relevant documents on the case. THE CANADIAN PRESS |

I was reading through this thread and if no one else was going to say it I was. The thin material and light weight satelites would be dust before it hit the earth. Or at least very crispy and I doubt it stopped long enough for people to draw on it. (hyroglyphs) |
