Agreed Mac very interesting these metals seem to re-act to chemicals were as the foil like debris at Roswell was thin and resistant to heat ( they tried to burn it with a blow-torch ) and brute force i seem to remember (they tried hitting it with a sledgehammer ) but to no avail and that was in 1947

like a metal with memory. Some ufos have been witnessed changing shape before they accelerate.but if this metal is so durable and maybe indestructable,it would shed doubt on roswell being a crashed alien saucer.

Nothing is indestructable.
None the less, we had no metal or alloy that can fit all those descriptions, in 1947. I doubt, if we as yet do. -------------------- QUEST FOR THE REAL TRUTH |

Nothing is indestructable. None the less, we had no metal or alloy that can fit all those descriptions, in 1947. I doubt, if we as yet do. Please Soul Drifter, that "nothing" is only nothing you (now) know of. (I don't want to focus on "indestructable" because that's such a negative/deconstructive approach and just makes me think of all the "immature" destructive forces at work "lately".) A material we now (since a little more than a decade) publicly know of is, in it's commercialised brandname, "kevlar" (carbonfibre), I think it was branded by Dupont. Could you imagine what else is secretly on their shelves for years? Could you imagine what materials are being tested on the latest (warfare) toys? It's a sick boys world. In 1997 I wrote my thesis (I'm an architectural-, industrial designer) and one of the developments I saw (envisioned/phantasised) then was " a free floating material with the capacity to change it's/the shape of a room, for a new function". It is only a matter of time that it will happen. If I can think of it, I can inspire others to solve parts of the equation and together it makes a new product. I do not have to be an expert in all the fields to yet be able to understand it's essences, to come up with new integrated design. How many times did people say in history that things can't be done? History keeps repeating itself... Cheers, John. -------------------- Time and Space never had a beginning. Therefore anything is possible. Even the impossible. |

Roswell was probably one of japans balloon bombs they were sending over on the jetstream.. someone
forget to tell them the war was over and they kept sending them.. they probably account for most ufo sightings |

A destructive approach is how we test materials for durability, strength, abrasion resistance etc., etc.. What they had found for debri may not have been metal at all for all we know. It could have been some other extremely exotic metallic looking material, who knows. -------------------- QUEST FOR THE REAL TRUTH |

just a small point to make...anything that travels across the galaxy or further is gonna have to be durable if not virtually indestructable, and the sat-nav's gotta be spot on.

As a designer I'd have a different approach:
I would make the most FLEXIBLE design with the most integrated functions. Result: Shape shifting material with build in homing device. Different function > different material/different shape. It's quite simple really. -------------------- Time and Space never had a beginning. Therefore anything is possible. Even the impossible. |

just a small point to make...anything that travels across the galaxy or further is gonna have to be durable if not virtually indestructable, and the sat-nav's gotta be spot on. Why? If you are travelling space you must have some kind of energy shield(force field) to protect you from space debri, therefore would you need to have a hull so tough, I don't think so. If your shields failed, I doubt there exists tough enough material to stop debri travelling at near the speed of light when it hits. Navigation could easily be done by tuning into specific gravitational sources and done automatically. -------------------- QUEST FOR THE REAL TRUTH |

you'd have to have adeqate protection from all the different types of radiation, and not to forget..space bandits!

Interesting. Know any? -------------------- Time and Space never had a beginning. Therefore anything is possible. Even the impossible. |

Futurists are currently predicting that nano-technology will be incorporated into future space probes exploring our solar system. The nano technology will be able to repair minute holes created by impacts during space travel.
Also Its estimated that our alloys are only at 25% of their available strength currently. With nano technology we could easily achieve greater strength at a very low cost, and great efficiency. |
