are there any UFC or Boxing fans on this forum? I am really looking foward to the Sugar Shane vs Miguel cotto fight and for ufc the Michael Bisping vs Rashad Evans.

My favorite boxer: Zab Juddah (welterweight)
My favorite UFC: Jon Fitch

I watch them both. Not as much as I used to though. Boxing disappoints me now, too many crooked judges and actually too much of a crooked sport anymore. I boxed quite a bit in my 20s, but found I rather enjoy being able to chew steak, lol.... That, and the wife and the lack of good insurance.... all of it played a factor. It was fun and good for me, sort of like my version of yoga. I was able to get centered, etc.

My favorite boxer was always Johnny Tapia. Also liked Dela Hoya, the Klitschos... a few others.

Yeah I'm a huge UFC fan, I'm also a fan of K-1 and Elite XC and that kinda stuff, I prefer Mixed Martial Arts over boxing.

yeah i do like the diversity of fighting in ufc a whole lot but the punches in boxing are much more skilled then that of ufc stand-up.

fools crow, i love the golden boy (nasty jab) too, i was pissed when he lost the decision to floyd maywether (however you spell that). I have recently begun practicing boxing and martial arts and i find it to be a natural lift as well.

UFC is ok but i was done with boxing long ago. and UFC has fallen far from what it once was.

martial arts is the only "sport" that i ever really enjoyed. thing is when you put it inside of a ring and sell tickets it eliminates the spirit of the art and makes it a sporting activity rather than a form of self defense. there are no rules in a real fight. no ref, no point system, no weight class. all of that removes the realism form the way things actually happen in a real-life situation.

don't get me wrong i enjoy watching those guys beat the crap out each other, but i don't see it as actual fighting or art form, just entertainment.

i used to keep up with it, but now i get tired of listening to the cheesy announcers and having to look at all the product endorsements. to me martial arts should be sacred, not exploited.

no wonder the chinese didn't want it getting around...

of course that is the true nature of martial art but fighting for entertainment is something civillization has participated in for a long time and the tradition is caried on in boxing, ufc, and football. I agree the mma announcers are pretty lame but joe tesstore and teddy atlas of boxing are good announcers. Trust me i'd much rather train in the shaolin temples or the ruins of greece than the gym and i plan on travel the world to train in the true form of the martial arts but the fighters have passion and spirit to win and thats what makes it enjoyable.

did anybody see mayweather ko hatton? it was a good fight. Also the ultimate fighter finale was great. The fight between j-rock and warmachine was freaking brutal.

yep. I really hope mayweather fights miguel cotto before retiring if he wins that he is unarguably the best welterweight of all time.

:telloff: ultimate fighting would be ok if the rules where changed so they stay on their feet, instead of rolling around the floor and wasting time!

I'm a boxing fan and was in a boxing program that was held at my city's national guard armory, but where i live i can't watch the matches, most are on pay-per-view and i just don't wanna pay for that stuff...
