I have always been, not a skeptic, but somebody that just needed proof and boy did I get it. I was heading to the bathroom and all of a sudden I heard a strange sound coming from above. I was thinking to myself "what in the world is that?" I really don't have a good descrpition of the sound but it definitely sounded like something hovering.. it got loud and then quite, and then loud and then quiet, and so on. My instant reaction was to go look out the window. I looked off into the sky and saw none other than a ring of blinking lights speeding off into the sky. I could tell it wasn't a satellite or some form of aircraft. It was similar to the Phoenix lights. Amazed, I kept watching it and suddenly the lights faded into the night sky. I wanted to take a picture but I knew I wasn't going to make it in time. When it was over I went and woke my mother up and told her and instantly she believed me, since she said she saw a UFO in Canada one time. The whole thing seemed bizarre because I had just finished watching a documentary called "Close Encounters". It's almost like I was being watched. Anyways, this is the first time I have experienced something like this and it is like nothing I've seen before.

when i read that it gave me chills.me and my wife were in bed reading.we then heard as you describe a hovering or more like a low frequency buzz.the hairs on my arms stood on end.the sound apporached and faded took about 5 or so seconds.my wife said what was that,hmmm i was thinking the same thing.i went to look out the window,nothing to be seen,but the sound had gone.so not to freak my wife out,i said it must have been a bus,to which she replied it went over the house not passed it.then it might have been a helicopter i replied.never heard one like that she said.to this day i don't know what it was..never heard anything like it since.this happened only about january this year,11.30 ish.i mention it to her the next morning and said what do you think it was?i don't think i want to know was her reply.

that same noise is happening in dillsboro, indiana right now and it has been going on for hours.. my friend told me he heard a weird noise when he was outside and i didn't know what he was talking about so i had to go outside.. i did not know what to think when i went outside.. the sound was like a violent humming that keeps getting loud then quiet, loud then quiet like others have posted... i have NEVER heard anything like this in my 20 years of living here. This is my first weird experience like that I just went outside on my back porch to see if i still heard it and its getting louder then before, every hair on my body is standing up right now, this is creepy shit
