At over 21 stories high it will be the largest optical telescope of its kind.

(Dundee;342300) I wonder how it will compare to the Hubble?
It never will since it needs to go through our distorted atmosphere and the only way to acheive this is through a laser (focus on atrifical star - laser point focusing) hubble dont have this problem one of the prime reasons for hubble being were it is - i think this telescope is not meant to replace hubble but more to replace one of the now aging 20years+ old telescopes on the ground. |

It will have Adaptive Optics to overcome atmospheric distortions.

Yup they fire a laser to create an artifical star then look at its distortion and the opticic compansats for the distortion, they have a few nothing as big so will bite my lip until i see the images but none have managed to out do hubble so far so fail to see how this one will do it. |

Personally I think huge telescopes on the moon will be the way to go in the future. -------------------- QUEST FOR THE REAL TRUTH |
