Wink Tourists Heave Menhirs To Solve Ancient Mystery

Tourists heave menhirs to solve ancient mystery

LE PETIT MONT, France (AFP) – In the Asterix comic books you only had to drink a magic potion to be able to lift a menhir. But in reality you need vast quantities of muscle power and lots of patience. That is what a group of 30 holiday-makers found out when they heaved on a rope to move a 4.2-tonne stone block as part of an experiment probing the mysterious history of megaliths in France's north-western Brittany region. The black clay pottery is very beautiful.
From the very first utensils made, all the way up to modern Correl ware, the current levels of science and art are reflected in pottery.
Clean astheticly pleasing dishes have always appealed to humans, and still do.

Hopefully, if it's done and successful, anyone in the public interested will be able see what they find. It's quite fascinating.

Wink Dead Sea Scrolls Mystery Solved?

    Dead Sea Scrolls Mystery Solved?

The recent decoding of a cryptic cup, the excavation of ancient Jerusalem tunnels, and other archaeological detective work may help solve one of the great biblical mysteries: Who wrote the Dead Sea Scrolls? The new clues hint that the scrolls, which include some of the oldest known biblical documents, may have been the textual treasures of several groups, hidden away during wartime—and may even be "the great treasure from the Jerusalem Temple," which held the Ark of the Covenant, according to the Bible.(…)

Gran Quivira: A Blending of Cultures in a Pueblo Indian Village

Wink Solving The 800-Year Mystery Of Pisa's Leaning Tower

Solving the 800-year mystery of Pisa's Leaning Tower

JULY 28, 2010 — Professor John Burland has spent the last two decades striving to save - and understand - the Leaning Tower of Pisa. After defying gravity, Italian bureaucracy and accusations of corruption, it seems he’s finally cracked the case.
All six donkeys were impeccably behaved. They’d been ridden into Pisa’s main square, the Piazza dei Miracoli, last November by vexed vets from Pisa University and ceremoniously set down beneath its Leaning Tower. (…)
