This seems exciting. I hope there will be more about this one when the research begins.

Researchers have revealed the first images from the Caribbean sea floor of what they believe are the archaeological remains of an ancient civilization. Guarding the location’s coordinates carefully, the project’s leader, who wishes to remain anonymous at this time, says the city could be thousands of years old; possibly even pre-dating the ancient Egyptian pyramids, at Giza.

I think there was a seafaring civilization that was sailing the globe during the ice age. Their cities were on the sea coasts where conditions were warmer.

It is likely the inland inhabitants were less advanced, inhabiting the colder and harsher interior. It was a civilization that went underwater when the ocean levels rose 300 feet in a reletavly short period.

Atlantis was not a place, it is the legend of a time. A time of global climate change that ended a civilization.

If it stands or falls on the credibility of the author, maybe it isn't such a good idea.

There is much, still to be discovered in our oceans.

Would be interesting if true. The images - wtf are they? They look like graphics from an old flight simulator. And the city was discovered by treasure hunters, not scientists. Hence keeping the location secret until their bounty is set.

Carribean sea - Estimates of the sea's age range from 20,000 years to 570 million years. mmmkay... 20 000 years could have had a civilization there, I suppose.

The site was found using advanced satellite imagery, and is not in any way associated with the alleged site found by Russian explorers near Cuba in 2001, at a depth of 2300 feet.
Some kind of satellite image it says there.

I wonder how can a city become submerged. There must be two possibilities. Either the sea rises, which would mean global calamity perhaps after the ice age or the land lowers, which would be in connection wth tectonic plate movement. Written history hasn't perhaps witnessed this kind of submerging, but it seems it is possible. Or at least I can't remember info of a submerged area of land, which would be this scale at a depth of 2300 feet.

The way I read this is that the Russian claim was for a city at 2300 feet.
The depth of this new claim is not given but it states it is much shallower than the Russian claim.

Yeah I didn't pay enough attention. It doesn't say the depth of the new find, except its shallower than the Russian find. Makes my earlier point less important, since there isn't saying how deep the find exactly is.

senhuan....these images look to be reproduced images. Its not hard to believe that the sea level rose after the last ice age.....and it did happen before the Pyramids of Giza...no doubt since they are 4,500 years old. The sea level rise of the last 10,000 years can more than explain the "global flood" of Noah.

The Atlantic Ocean is at the oldest 190 million years old.

IMO....the credibilty of the treasure hunters is shot because they are not telling where it is....or are showing what they have really found.

I would say, the Atlantic Ocean began to take shape between ca. 150-130 Mya when Pangea started to break up.
