Recent findings support something solid in Jupiter, just mostly gas, so odds are against something being able to pass clear through, but not impossible.

But it is strange how the scar seems stationary and growing.

Further observations could prove that it's not an impact at all. It could be the planets natural reaction of it's approach to the "Galactic Plane", like Saturns hexagon, or the Earths increase in lightning.

Magnetics can do strange things, on the nano scale, on the planetary scale, and even on the Galactic scale.

The first photo is Saturns sudden Hexagon shape, the second is an Aroura on Saturn caused by a CME(coronal mass ejection) last year.

It's the same thing with this. You say that your stuff is guess work, well guess what, how do you make guess, you educate yourself. The only way you can do that is by observing what you can see. Well, the only place we know produces complex life is our world, so to make educated guesses on the likely hood of complex life on other worlds - i.e. anything bigger than bacteria and other single celled organisms, we only have to look to our own planet.

and that my friend is where your entire argument falls apart. your entire idea about OTHER PLANETS is based on EARTH BASED SPECIES. Species evolve differently based on the places that they evolve in. Originally the planet earth used to have a carbon dioxide based atmosphere until the little microbes did what? they breathed it all in over millions of years and replaced it with their by-product. Just happens to be oxygen.

That right there screams that a planet doesnt have to be "earth like" and in a "habitable" zone thats suitable for life "as we know it". There is life at the bottom of the ocean in temperatures we couldnt ever dream of finding life. There is life in the north and south poles that survives the harshest coldest temperatures that no human could seriously hope to live in permanantly without external support.

Bacteria is not likely to produce signals, only complex life can produce signals - so we have to determine, how many planets out there can produce something that can think and reason like us.

I didnt know that Jupiter had some findings that could mean that parts of it were solid...
I'll have to look into this phenomenon because im not real fimiliar with the all
the possible reactions of the galactic plane and how it'll effect all the planets.

That is really the reason for this thread.

How could something large enough to leave a scar like that, at a time when we call ourselves watchers, sneek up and slap hell out of Jupiter and none of us saw it coming.

It's not like we were blinded by the Sun, because Jupiter is in our night sky right now, so we should have been able to see whatever it was from Earth based scopes. And NASA has IBEX(Intersteller Boundry Explorer), which is supposed to be keeping an eye on debri coming from the "Itersteller Boundry"(aka-Galactic Plane).

Which is why I think it may be a planetary event, like some kind of "Super Volcano".
