Default Snow Storm During a heat Wave UK ?

Residents living in Birstall, Leics., were stunned when a huge snow and hail shower swept overhead on an otherwise cloudless day.

The 20-minute mini-blizzard at 5pm on Saturday afternoon left cars and roads under 3ins of snow and ice while just a mile away temperatures soared to 27.2C (81F).......................

Hasn't been hot in here for the past 2 weeks, the heatwave thing is out dated.
Isn't that unheard of for April snow... This is the first December I remember having snow, I find that a more concerning happening.

I agree with the comments on that, that it's hail. We had quite bad (for us) thunderstorms earlier this week, same time I mentioned it, someone else in the UK but quite far away on this forum also mentioned the thunder.

Any other Brits care to pitch in XD.
I'm fairly sure we have enough on the forum to get a weather report for the entire British Isles.

I still do not understand why this is End Of Times...
In july? 2007, the vast majority of Northern England was underwater.
2003, we had a proper heatwave...

xeno....I agree...I've seen snow in May...and I'm farther south than you are. I also saw 2 inches of hail accumulate in 15 minutes last summer....but the temperature was still in the 80s farenheit. Not to mention it was sunny and 85 in the next town.

Its been sunny here last couple of days but its not been warm by any means and i live in North cambridgeshire on the borders with lincolnshire, Norfolk and like i said its be fine and dry but not warm what they experienced was nothing more than a heavy storm all rain starts of as Snow and hail even in the summer i don't see anything strange here i have seen my garden covered in hail after a storm and no doubt so have plenty of others...

I live in South Wales and it has been quite chilly the past couple of days. Had to put the heating on yesterday for an hour.

We had a strange thunderstorm in the South last night, or at least I did.

30 seconds of torrential rain, one flash and rumble at exactly the same time (so must have been right overhead) 30 seconds of torrential rain; then nothing for the rest of the night.

It's been a bit hit and miss here, some cold and some warm days, no snow nor sweltering weather.

So no heatwave and it is not the "end times" for Britain just yet...

    Long live the Queen...
