How to meditate properly

There are many different ways in order to get into a state of an altered consciousness. The directions in my last post were a little too quick and to the point though. Because I was focusing on a related yet completely different subject, I thought I would add a little bit more info on the most important part of contact, and that is getting into a state that will help you give and receive feedback at the same time. It works just like a telephone line, one needs to dial the numbers properly, and have a speaking/listening speaker to transfer messages. Just one missing ingredient out of the mix will leave you S.O.L. When there is leisure time, get into a comfortable spot. Dont get into a position that is going to leave you adusting every five minutes and certainly dont get into a position that is potential to cut blood flow to any limbs. Next, relax. Rest all of your muscles. All tension in the face must ease, even the tongue must relax and not press aganst the roof of your mouth. The shoulders should come down, arms limb, legs square and rested. Last, thoughts. Ease thoughts. After a stressful day, one would get the idea to let out all of their bad expiriences of the day physically and have the potential to release those feelings on everyone else. This will not help things. Eventually it will all bite you on the ass in the end. Instead your going to let the stress go in a different way, not by holding it in, but by not thinking about it and partially forgetting it. This might sound illogical, but stressful thinking and mental anguish is not rational thinking. Irrational thinking leads to irrational actions. In this step, take deep breaths and give yourself a wonderful daydream. The happiest most pleasant thought in your mind. Then try to let that video play in your head. Then imagine a clear dry marker board set in your mind, everything is completely white. Dont surpress any thought, just let it "float" around. Keep this all nice and simple, no complications.
Your first time doing this may not be of much help, but doing this over time will give you results. On your first couple tries though, note how your body feels during the session. Dont think about it, just note it and write it down afterwards. There should be a floating feeling, and sometimes it will feel as if the body were moving in a wavy action, and there will be a lossed track of time. The expirience is like being high, its a great healthy, cost efficent alternative to drugs. Patience is needed. Dont give up if your going to try this either.
There are additions to help out with that too. Use meditation music, it helps. Do this in a dark room to help out, any lighting will work, but a personal preference of mine is to have the room dark. The environment should be silent with no disruptions or you can go on a nice nature hike anywhere that has beautiful scenery. Keep each session to about 30 minutes no less.
