Tens of thousands take part in a candlelight vigil at Hong Kong's Victoria Park June 4, 2012 to mark the 23rd anniversary of the military crackdown of the pro-democracy movement at Beijing's Tiananmen Square in 1989.

There were easily more than 150,000 people there. It was very moving.

You've been in my mind a lot lately, I guess because it's around that time. Your picture doesn't bring about the same cold sadness, that sense of deep injustice and guilt. Somehow things are easier, and while it's shitty that you didn't get to grow with the rest of us, everything seems to be falling into place the way it was always meant to be. I still wish you could be here, as does everyone else. But that's never going to happen, and I guess it's better to accept it and appreciate the life we still have. Maybe we'll see you again someday. Your sister had a her baby, and she's a great mom. When I look into their eyes, I don't see the funeral anymore. If you are still out there in some way, you should know that your family is happy; that everyone will always love and miss you, but we're okay. Everything's okay.
