Let me start by saying I hope I don't come off as whining here , but damnit life is definately not fair.
As some of you know I lost my mama a little over 2 yrs ago to alhemizers. Three weeks ago my hubby and I were told he has the beginning of stage 2 alhemizers. I knew his memory wasnt that great as he is 70 now
, but neither is mine. I guess I am telling this as I need an outlet for all this rage I am feeling. Denial is no longer an option here. We have been married almost 30 yrs now and he talks to me about when the time comes he is no longer with me and how I should do things. Hes been getting his affairs in order and not telling me I guess to keep me calm. My question is this.... What did I do in my life that everyone I love is being taken from me? From my child , my grand daughter, mom, dad, sister and now my wonderful husband. I rather it be me. I cant stand the thought of him going thru this. BUT, as the doctor told me, he will be happy as he regresses, it is us who have the hard time.
For the time being we are spending alot of time together , as he says making more wonderful memories for me! In 30 yrs we have never had an argument, we are together cause we love each other, and for other reasons.
I am sorry , just needed to rant a bit.

cricket, my heart goes out to you. Rant all you want, and need to... we are here, and listening to you. I wish you didn't have to go thro all of this too, you have already suffered much.

I think it's wonderful that he is concerned about you after he goes on, and shows true love and commitment to your future welfare. I wish I had some answers for you, and I hope you have gained some solace for having told us of your troubles.

Hel cricket you can't take a trick can you. I am so very sorry to hear this. You have done nothing bad mate, I can't answer why your luck has been so bad. It is not fair thats for sure. I lost my Mum last year, and as she got older, dimentia had set in and her memory got worse and worse. As hard as it is for those of us that have to watch, after a while, it really is not that bad for those suffering from it. Mum, was happy, and mostly oblivious to the importance of what was happening. As she got sicker and sicker, and her body slowly was giving up. She was happy as could be. Either she forgot how unwell she was, or forgot how significant the doctors reports were. But either way, she was happy. We enjoyed many long talks about the old days, she would sometimes tell you the same story 3 times in 10 minutes which was a little hard. But overall, mum was very peaceful, and very happy. I am guessing your hubby will be the same as things progress. As hard as it will be for you, he will eventually be really quite happy. Post all you want mate, we are all here for you. Pm any of us if we can help. All the best cricket, we will be thinking of you.
