I personally think that all galaxies formed after the galaxy centric black hole.
BH jets are powered by exotic mass leading to galaxy formation.
If this is true, then the entire galaxy would have formed in a magnetic couple.
When the earth crosses the galactic plane, there could be a pole shift.
Other than making compasses go out of date every year, there is likely to be aurora light shows in unusual places,
Likely no real impact on earths ecology.
No matter how the poles are oriented, magnetic shield will still do the same job.
And it presents a unique oppertunity to study the earths magnetic dynamo.

Not really new news. People have known of pole drift for ages and have known about pole flip from magnetically oriented particles in minerals on the sea floor. They have flippady flipped many times. (Just N/ S magnetic. Not the wild idea of Core Flip).
