    Default Solar Flare Fun

Cosmic Log - Solar blast heading our way

Here comes another one. For those folks nearer the poles; get your cameras ready, there should be some cool Bi Frost Bridge action this weekend. Take some pictures to share with your latitude challanged friends.

I saw that too, M3 class, should not do any damage, there just might be some nice Polar Lights.

Yeppers...it's not that big but may screw up some signals near the poles so if anyone is planning on flying to Anarctica or Iceland...may want to reschedule that trip. Too bad it's not strong enough to blow up HAARP.

    Default Solar Flare Class M Data 1-18-2012 - 1-19-2012

    sagewillow,

I will add the most recent information that I have found :

There were two Class M Solar Flares within 18 hrs as follows :

    Wednesday, 1-18-2012
    SOLAR FLARE M 1.7 Active Region 1401
2:04 pm EST maxed 2:12 ended 2:27 pm

    Thursday, 1-19-2012
    SOLAR FLARE M 3.2 Active Region 1402 N 28 E 27
8:44 am EST maxed 11:05 pm ended 12:50 pm

The first one lasted approximated 23 minutes
The second one lasted for over 4 hours.

I have already noted a significant increase of reactions upon the Earth,
although the News Media has stated the effects will be felt most
    tomorrow, 1-21-2012
