I'm feeling very trodden upon and alcoholic right now, so...
(The idea is to give recognition to someone, something, or nothing for whatever reason.)

I'd like to thank Tutu for being an inquisitive, caring, and deep person/friend (if it's okay to call someone on an online message board a friend).

Oh Cricket, I would like to thank you for being here with us again and for all your spirit. It's wierd that you can care for someone who you only know from the internet and have never met or seen or spoken to, but I do care about you and I do worry about you. I am so glad you are back. I will have to get your email adress and I can send you all the jokes I get.

My God you'll be dancing and making bodily contact before I know it. Jeeez just don't think any of you are on my christmas card list...Bah Humbug! (Okay so there may be a few exceptions...I'll concede) wink.gif

LOL. I think Ben gets so choked with emotion that he has to say the opposite of what he really feels to stop himself from crying.

Actually I am a very emotional person and thread after thread, post after post it really annoys me that people have so little time in the modern world for an emotional response to things. Now obviously Hodge got emotional when he created this thread his first post oozes emotion and I think goodwill. For me there's something deeper in it though....a yearning to have those 'fellings' recognised as 'legitimate' as 'meaningful'.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that a persons 'subjective' experience is as important as the 'Objective' science that analyses it and I'll go further and say that the subjective IS THE REALITY. The objective merely tries to explain it in terms that can be understood by later generations and replicated if necessary.

What matters is how we feel about something...not what we think.

Ben

PS I love you all really.

See, Iwatch, that didnt take long...lol

I agree, Ben, I've been saying that as a society we suffer from emotional deprivation. We are estranged from our emotions...they are suppressed and discouraged...and our emotions seems to be central to our human nature...yet we deny them as though they were representive of a weakness or fault.

What did I feel when I read this thread this morning? I smiled. Its such a simple, yet powerful thing to touch another person's heart. To bring a smile or tear. Ah, the beauty of words...being but a sound or symbol...yet they can transcend miles and barriers......and can touch the soul or mind of a person in ways that no human hand ever could. smile.gif
