Hey guys,
Not sure if people are aware of this so Im posting this incase you haven't heard about it yet.

Air Force's "Project Bluebook" archives are now available online.
"The Blue Book Archive provides a fully searchable interface to high-resolution document scans relating to the US government's investigation of the UFO phenomena"

http://www.bluebookarchive.org/

Now all of us pretty much know it was a joke and they really did not investigate the subject seriously but anyways...

Hope this resource is useful in your researching needs.

While watching the ABC special last week, one of the things (among many) I found lacking was any mention of Capt. Edward Ruppelt, the first officer assigned to head Project Bluebook. Capt. Ruppelt wrote of his military experience investigating UFOs in his book "The Report on Unidentified Flying Objects" which you can find online here. If you want to learn about the nature and truth of this phenomenom, you have to understand it's history and to understand it's history, as far as the early military experience, you have to read this book.

It was only after the legendary "Estimate of the Situation", as prepared by Project Sign, was REJECTED by General Hoyt Vandenberg (and immediatley ordered destroyed), that the "official" government stance became one of ridicule and denial. So much so that eventuallv Dr. J. Allan Hynek could take no more, switched sides, and became an advocate of the ETH. General Vandenberg once summed up the UFO phenomenom as nothing but "double vision" (Denver Post, July 31st 1952). But what else would you have expected them to do?

Another excellent way of finding out more about the early days is to visit Project 1947. If you want an excellent primer on Capt. Ruppelt and the early days of US Military involvement in investigating UFOs, you might try the Sign Historical Group and for an outstanding read try 'Captain Edward J. Ruppelt: Summer of the Saucers-1952' by Michael David Hall and Wendy Ann Connors.

Oh they investgated UFOs seriously, they just decided early on, you couldn't handle it. I will also go out on a limb and say it was probably a wise decision......at the time.

I tend to agree, paranoia was instilled in the population at the time (WW2 was still fresh in peoples minds and the propaganda machine was still switched one) plus the US had found a new enemy....Communism...anyone with a gun was likely to shoot at anything that looked out of place (and some usually did).

There also seems to be financial motives for not being open about the subject...imagine the profit margins to be made by getting hold of alien technology...even more so if only a few had access to say a crashed ship, or new materials.

A more frightening scenario for none disclosure, imagine an alien carrying a virus or bacterium that that we had no immunity against, that could explain why some whitenesses/abducties disappeared especially up to the 1980s.

The list of possibilities of none disclosure is endless, one thing is for certain a large amount of intelligent people from all backgrounds, have witnessed strange events that are not from everyday life, and a systematic coverup has been in place from the start, the motives for the coverup are only speculative at the moment, and it may take another 50 years to find the truth, but maybe the truth will come out tomorrow.

Thank you andpau66 and Cowbell for the links smile.gif

Yip I was called away and had to close it down but when confronted with documents I like to search using a keyword that 'top brass' would use, that way you can get to the heart of a matter pretty quickly. I was getting some interesting stuff after typing in the word 'Probability. I did so in the hope that somewhere some General or Major would have written a memo saying 'The probability of it being extra terrestrial is high'. I got as far as 'inexplicable sightings' when the man arrived to fix the washing machine sad.gif But I was looking at some good stuff. Another good word when searching these is 'Likelihood' etc. I'm sure you all get what I mean.
