I was just wondering why our facts don’t support our theories about god.
People die and disasters happen all across the world.

So does this mean that our theories on god are wrong?

Who's facts?.

I was thinking the same thing...

You know, we created god, in our own image and likeness. Actually, the image part is right. But, the likeness part... we created god in what we want ourselves to be like: Perfect.

Look I understand why we would question weather or not god is so merciful but we must understand emotions "religiously" where created by god and handed to humans it would not make sense for god to have emotion we only applied emotion to god so we could better comprehend it

Its difficult for us as humans to comprehend a sentient being without emotions its just to hard to understand. Also the reason we might think of god as being merciful and gracious is because god created us, god has no real use for us and if there is a use its probably nothing god cant do already so that’s why ive always heard to live is privilege

I can see what you mean Akulmie but if you're saying we ascribed these emotions to the 'God of the bible' then I would have to say I disagree. My reason for this? Exodus 34:14 Where it quite clearly states in God's own words that he is a 'Jealous' God. I'm afraid the emotions were there long before we ascribed them to God.

Would something perfect get "jealous"?

God has never claimed to be perfect...that is something we have decided for ourselves. (Biblical God that is).

The concept of perfection is a human invention as well. What does it mean to be perfect and without flaw: flaw is subjective and so therefore is perfection.

God's perfection was interpreted by st. augustine I don't see this as this way, the bible is more of our interpretaion of God not his own, God and the old testament was created in a time much different than ours who's to say they had this same concept of perfect who's to say the ancient peopledid not relize this of god before what they wanted of themselves
