http://news.bbc.co.uk/hi/english/uk/newsid_178000/178132.stm http://forests.org/articles/reader.asp?linkid=38512 http://www.searchukpestcontrol.co.uk/pest.htm http://www.kettering.gov.uk/site/scripts/d...85&pageNumber=2 http://www.forestryandtimber.org/downloads...irrelpolicy.doc innocent?!?! and all I've found that is against culling grey squirrels... (http://www.animalaid.org.uk/wildlife/intro.htm) Grey squirrels are being blamed for a decrease in the numbers of red squirrels. But red squirrels were already in decline before the grey was introduced 100 years ago as an ornamental species. The greys have flourished because they have been better able to adapt than the red. They are more sturdy, opportunistic and faster at breeding. And surely a squirrel is a squirrel is a squirrel - is the colour really an excuse for killing the grey ones?
an un-substantiated fact.... and their all squirrels!!!! |

You want me to show you a few reasons for why people are worse?.
Those squirrels did'nt do those things just to piss you off. They take the bark to build homes, and if they carry any type of disease, I would assume that it was caused by human error. |

The "Monster raving looney party" here in the UK ther policy on Red and grey sqirrels is to paint all the greay ones red but what about the grey ones then they would be exstinct. confusing.

(UFOhunter) But what makes red squirrels better than greys?
it could be the other way round.... They're native, prettier and now much rarer. Others have told me that the grey squirrels actually kill red ones, but I do not know if this is true or not. I thought their displacement of the red was just because they were just better able to adapt to the environment here, not because they physically attacked the red squirrel. |

(Andrew) They're native, prettier and now much rarer.
But they are all animals in the end, so it is unfair to kill them. I don't believe that the Greys kill the red squirrels... I have never seen it, or heard of that before. I think it is just the Grey squirrels being quicker and as you say adapting to the enviroment

so its ok for us to kill a species by getting another one to do it for us, but its bad for us to do it directly? nice narrow minded thinking, thanks for reminding me what animal rights people are like......
