As I was going outside to my car I saw a very very bright star that was not moving I was just wondering what this could be. I know for sure it was not a ufo but does anyone know of any planets or stars that are viewable very easily to the naked eye right now?

Where are you and what part of the sky did you see it in? Was it close to the horizon or up high?

both mars and venus are the easyest to see with a small telescope usely around spring and fall you can see them the best

tjwes12 can I recommend that you Google 'Heavens Above' and register there...believe me when I say that every star and every piece of junk that ever passes over your rooftop will be identified by them BEFORE it happens. After I armed myself with information from there I even pretended to my kids once that I was Psychic and could call upon sattelites to hurtle over our house just upon my command - they were gobsmacked when at exactly the appointed time one appeared....had no problems getting them to bed that night - You don't argue with a Dad that's magic.

Ben you're BAD!! Your poor kids will probably go to school and be laughed out of class because of your antics!!! (wish I had something like that when mine were home!)
Screw that....I'm gonna use the site to make my grandkids think I'm the greatest thing next to puppies and hot dogs!!!
