Video Download (right-click & "save target as") Object by moon 2nd link Object by Moon June 17th, 2005 7:20 PM While shooting "fill" footage for an upcoming DVD, I happen to catch an object flying into the viewframe. I had the camcorder positioned so the Moon would be traveling left to right in the screen's view. I had just locked down the tripod and had taken my eyes away to see what else was happening skyward and so did not notice the object until later in the evening while reviewing the tape. I've digitally zoomed in on the object with my editing system and it is clear that in comparing it's path and shape that the object its not a airplane, bird, bug, satillite or balloon (imho). It catches the reflection of the sun momentarily as it seem to spiral slowly from the bottom right hand area, then exits off the bottom 1/5 of the right screen area. You can also see a second section below the primary object and it (or they) seem to rotate/spiral also but at a faster pace.. Distance would be probably 10-13 miles from the cameras point of view. 22x optical zoom with a 2x optical tele-convertor. Moon and object were in the southern hemisphere at the time of taping. Would also like to say that the sun was not entirely set yet and I manually had adjusted the aperture to compensate for the added light and increased speed to 1,000 of a second. It's hard to say but it does look rather intriguing, i'm not sure what to make of it. Its just not detailed enough for me to be 100% convinced. Even so great work.... :alien2:

yes very good work, though if you look closely it looks very much like a satellite. It has the 2 solar panel wings which are hard to see but are pretty clear, and thats what gave it away to me. It's moving almost too slow to be a ufo. I could be wrong though.

I appreciate everyone's comments.
I guess I should have added more pertinent information to the initial post. For instance seeking to confirm that there were no satillites in the area at that time I refered to Nasa JPL tracking and 'Heavens Above' for confirmation. and none were scheduled for another two and half hours after the event (this includes the spacestation). I've filmed and videotaped 100's of satillites that I use for comparative reference footage. I've only had one daylite sighting (Outside of Earth's boundaries) and that was of SkyLab (years ago) shot thru a telescope. It was just a small dot in the sky (only visible when it rotated into the suns reflection) and traveled the same speed as a standard satillite. Considering that this object moved so slowly (wasn't traveling 14,000 miles per hour like a satillite), was within our atmosphere, had a lower portion spinning at a faster speed than the top portion, remained vertical & was considerably larger than any satillite that I know of... this all pretty much rules out that theory. I've been actively capturing/documenting aerial phenomena for over 25 years (yes, I'm an older researcher...lol, worked with MUFON and a number of differant ufologists & researchers thruout the years) so have a pretty good idea on what is and what isn't identifiable. I also checked with the nearest airport (25 miles away) for a report on all air-traffic within the area (at that particular time), and there was none (known), this pretty much rules out a standard FAA mandated aircraft. Wind was blowing from the West/NorthWest and so the object was going against the wind which pretty much rules out a weather (or other type of) balloon. The only thing that I failed to do was contact the local authorities to see if anyone had reported anything anomalous in that vicinity. Detail-wise, Sorry,,,,, I'm sure that if I'd been observant enough, I would have zoomed in further & followed it as I had zoomed out to be able to get the moon's trajectory and was not planning on trying to capture this event. And considering that the camcorder was locked down on a fluid-head tripod I'm sure I could have done a fairly good job (30 years experience in the video and film industry as a professional cameraman/cinematographer). To be honest with you people, I think this object leans more towards a vertical barbell/dumbell shaped craft. This is soley speculation on my part. But it doesn't match any of my other daylite sightings (or numerous nitetime sightings for that matter) in size or shape. I have plenty of daytime luminous spheroids shot at various times of the day, but they all are exactly that, just spheroids (I'm not speaking of orbs). I do have several nitetime barbell/dumbell video captures, but they were for the most part horizontal and too luminous to make out any detail, which is exactly why I find this one so interesting... Jaime Maussan (He's Mexico's version of News Anchor Walter Cronkite & Stanton Friedman all mixed into one person) has uncovered some pretty interesting evidence of an unknown shaped device/craft that also resembles this craft/device that I captured (see link).. Jaime Maussan's Craft page All in all, I'm just glad it wasn't a handheld shaky out of focus captured event that I see so often on the net (LOL). I'm including some captured frames. One is of the original, several are in an enhanced mode. A ORIGINAL Frame A Enhanced frame A original Frame: A enhanced frame: |

It reminds me of what I've been seeing...
though the ones I saw came in lower, and were more oval shaped ![]() But the reflection in the end is something I really relate to |
