Just noticed this section of the forum now. Thought I'd give you all a run-down of who I am, in case it matters to some of you
I choose not to be forthcoming with the details of my identity, as I have had trouble on the internet before. However, there are many things to a person besides a name. As my profile reads, I am a political science and philosophy undergrad, who holds a position as a teaching assistant. In my future as a professor, I hope to teach many more subjects. My studies are also strongly focused on the sciences, fine arts, and fitness. In addition to what I do in school, I am a self-employed fitness and yoga instructor, working mostly one-on-one with people. My goal is to also teach martial arts, and I am in the process of making this possible. I do include elements of the martial arts in my instruction, as per individual request. All of my life, I've had what most people would term "paranormal" or "supernatural" experiences. To me, such phenomena are like bread on the table. I've always been telepathically inclined, and have done my best to support and develop these abilities. That is difficult to do in a society of people who are not so inclined. The majority do not recognise these abilities, let alone know how to nurture them. As a result, those who seek answers continue to fall into the traps of opportunistists peddling their hokum. I myself have never fallen for the words of a false prophet. I attribute this unique discerning ability to my life-long experiences, next to which nonsense pales in comparison and reeks plainly of the greedy stench of b.s. I have been in contact with extraterrestrials all of my life, and have had vivid / lucid dreams, out of body adventures, past life regressions, and contact with spirits ever since I can remember. As a result, I know what's what, and have a wealth of first-hand accounts to share. However, despite my insight, I cannot claim to have all the answers. To me, there is nothing worst than one who would mislead others, either deliberately or through ignorance. I feel that it is a state of grave dishonour to speak of that which you do not know. I maintain strongly that to have an opinion is to have a belief, which is nothing. Meanwhile, I say that to have the facts - and to have them straight - is to have knowledge of the truth, which is everything. Thus, I seek always to know, and not believe. If you find me speaking of that which I do not know, then it will always be in speculation, where I make it clear that I am still working to find out the facts. And that's all I wanted to say about myself. Hope it makes me sound good :devil2: |

Thanks Kelly! I did my best to keep my pride at bay, though I'm sure it doesn't show

(Artemis) And that's all I wanted to say about myself. Hope it makes me sound good :devil2:
Nah I thought it made ya sound stuffy and staid - loosen your collar, get some junk food in yer belly and down a good whisky - then ya'll sound good

Thanks everyone!!!! I feel welcomed
Capt. Scarlet, from what I can tell, we're all from a bunch of places. Ben, junk food and alcohol almost ruined my life. I'm extremely sensitive to that stuff. And I don't know how martial arts, singing and belly dance can be defined as "stuffy". BUT if it makes you feel any better, then I admit that though I wish I was, I'm not as moderate as I sound
