Has anyone here ever read any of the sitchon books such as genesis revisited? I have read it and it talks about sumerian beleifs and us coming from a race of alien that actually took part of them and mixed or breed with ape and made us. They were called the annunaki? I consider myself a little skeptical at times. But once I read this it seemed to answer my questions regarding the missing link and adam and eve. I beleive it may be true. Has anone any info on this subject. I have really tried to research this.

David Icke talks a lot about the Sumerians, and yes you can trace our own ancestry back to them times, directly from the middle east.

Be prepared to be ridiculed by some if you go down the road of aliens/reptiles link with humanity though, some people get really odd when you discuss that.

Well, it does fly in the face of genetic, lingistic, archeological, and anthropological evidence, but other than that, what's the big deal?

Yeah, I don’t believe in the reptile link my self, but don’t have a problem with others discussing it smile.gif

My thought on it is this Faeden: people can speculate 'til the cows come home on such matters, just don't trry and act like that speculation supplants the truth and facts of the matter, that's when I or other skeptics, or debunkers if you want to be nasty, step in.

Yeah, sceptics have every right to step in and give there arguments and logic, but people should be able to believe in what they wish without being treated as idiots or less superior or stupid, you don’t do that, but some do.

If there beliefs don’t hurt anyone, I don’t see a problem.

why do people make a big thing about aliens.people of our comunities bring children up saying aliens are these green horrible monsters that fly around in a air crafts and shoot people with lasers.Aliens might be real they dont have to be green or travel from another univurse. how can we say they are green unless we meat a real alien then we may nether no. if an alien ever does come to earth they might not be aliens they could be a toldally different thing. They might not call there self aliens.

People make a big thing out of aliens because the "unknown" is a prime candidate for story telling. Its a very fertile ground because one can pretty much say anything you want.. so anyone can make the story. Defy common sense? Well, then simply say that who are we to say what common sense is for an alien. Defy physics? Claim aliens can transcend physics. You can simply make any argument, ad hoc and it will at worst be not accept, at best, be adopted as a great idea/story by the public at large.

For every story though, these days, of aliens being bad there is usally a "E.T." ish story of good aliens. This own board, if forced to make a choic would probably split even down the middle on the good vs. evil alien question.

Its an easy and fun area to talk on.

If you're really into this train of thought, download (for free!) 'Intelligent Design-Message from the Designers' at www.rael.org

It was written by a man who details his contact with an ET, who gave him a message to give to the whole of humanity in relation to our history/religion/science etc.

To be perfectly honest, there are no Sumerian myths that claim mankind was created by the 7 Annunaki. Anyone that has studied Mesopotamian history knows this, but Sitchen is rightfully convinced that the average reader lacks this bit of knowledge. Sitchen's claims are easily shot down by anyone with knowledge of near eastern myth, and some of his translations are laughable, such as his translation of the alleged Sumerian word Shemu, pretending that it means space ship. As the Sumerian's did not use the word Shu-mu, shemu, or shem, this is rather funny. Instead, what Sitchen did was display his ignorance by inserting an Akkadian word. The two languages are quite different, as Akkadian was a Semitic language while Sumerian was not. Furthermore, collaborative evidence from the Bible, using the Semetic Hebrew variant of the word, shem, tells us that the word shemu means " Name ", like as in a name of renown. A simple reading of Genesis 11 makes this obvious. They are building a glorious city of brick and mortar, not exactly rocket material, and making a great name ( shem ) for themselves.

The rest of Sitchen's babble is just as bad. It might help of the man had a degree in Assyriology, Semitic studies, Near Eastern history, or even linguistics, but then again, he isn't trying to present the truth. He is trying to take advantage of the fact that most people have never studied Mesopotamian history, and make a fast buck in the process. What else would you expect from a man whose degree is in history of economics!
