For those of you who know Vetamur, I just got an email from a mutual friend informing of some tragic news. Vetamur was on a trip to east Africa and was in some sort of accident en route. He is in the hospital now with life threatening injuries and from what I am told he might not make it.

This has hit me hard on a personal level, because he is one of those rare people that remonds you that there is some good left in this world and there are people who generally care. Before last December, he was just another person online to me. After I had vented a laundry list of my problems on this forum, he literally reached out to me, of his own volition, and rekindled a spark of hope in me. He helped me so much and asked for nothing in return. So I ask all of you who know him, and even if you don't know him, to say a prayer for him and hope for a full recovery. I will post any updates as soon as I can.

There are people on the internet you get to like, there are those you get to love and then there are those you wish were your best friend or brother - I wished Vetamur was one of those to me in real life - I love the guy, I love his unwavering moral beliefs and his.....well just everything about him.....If I could choose a brother I'd be with him now.......Vet you fought every day of your life to become who and what you are - don't stop fighting now....all my love and God bless mate.

Thank you for the news, Busaiku. This helps so much, to know the news and be able to send out the best to Vet. It's terrible news and the part I am thinking hard about is that Vet may make it. I surely do hope so, that he emerges in a good way from all this. Vet is a great man in my book and my every positive thought is with him.

Thinking all about you, Vetamur, for sure.smile.gif

Your friend,
Mary

Vet. You are now part of my growing plots of thoughts until I hear otherwise...thinking of recovery for you but if that fails thinking of safe passage. May the light of the divine illuminate your well being...mentaly, physicaly and spiritualy.

sincerley,
Austin

I remember him as not having an avatar but had to look him up. I know he's been a member for a while but I dont know any of you on a personal level like you all seem to know one another. Some of you visit each other.

I guess Im just a shy person. But this isnt about me, I'm sorry I dont come into this forum as much as the others. So thats why it took me this long to post, I didnt even see this thread sad.gif

I will make a prayer for him today. Thats really sad. en rout to Africa? Did his plane go down or was it a car or boat accident?? Thats really crazy. We have to dodge the proverbial bullet in life everyday. Earthquakes, Floods, Tornados, Diseases, Each other when we're angry. And then in the last 100 years or so we created a new thing to fear... Machines.

I hope he will pull through but I hope he also pulls through with no life sustaining injuries.

So please update this thread with (I hope is good) news.

May I make another suggestion? When something like this happens, dont feel bad about doing a PM string. everyone should have gotten a message in their mailbox about what happened.

thanks.

here is a thought. Oddly enough I came up with this on another forum for a birthday card.

Why doesnt someone find a nice "Get Well" card on Google/images. We all sign it using MS Paint or whatever. We will go in a row. Everyone save image, Upload it back to imageshack.us then when its full of all of our signature, we can have Busaiku or Ben print it up and send it to him bedside.

OK. So pick a number in line. I would say Bus or Ben should be first, but if they print it up and send it, they might want to be last to sign anything personal to the ecard.

Someone find a nice card, and then we can pick numbers for who will sign it next in line and then each time someone signs it, resend it to imageshack with a url for the next person to save.

Maybe we should do it in BMP format (as mentioned before) to keep it print quality. Or png even. Maybe a nice large card 800x600. Maybe someone can even design a nice one with flowers on it.

Would be really cool if we sign one side that says "Get Well" and everyone upload a face shot and put our photos on it.
