Usually I wouldn't care this much, but I feel it's appropriate to bring this matter to the faces of the forum moderators and users. I woke up from napping, and I discovered I was banned from the forum for 48 hours. I was given this reason:

You have been banned for the following reason:
For 'not giving a shit what others think' - it's a forum, not a site
for monologues.

You have got to be kidding me. I made that paraphrased comment in response to another user who thought he could 'prove' right his opinion of me by polling the other users on the forum. I said I don't care what other people think. This is the offending post, #302. Be sure to skim around it to soak up the context given where I had made my comment.

Is this really deserving of a ban? Would another user had received one had he or she done the same exact thing? Not only that, the official message I was given as a reason for my ban highlighted a paraphrased comment completely twisted and out of context - even then, was this the real reason I was given an immediate ban?

Before any moderators rush to this thread to comment on my so-called bad attitude and frequent use of potentially offensive language as justification for my latest ban, I'd like to share that I have been banned for those exact reasons before. Also, I took them fine and didn't fight about it, as I do cross the line here and there. However, that wasn't the reason this time, and the official reason is evidence of that. To anyone responsible for running the forum and making these decisions, don't try to make things up and piece together other matters/reasons right now. I'm not going to believe it, and I have zero reason to. I'd rather like to understand what this is all about, and a healthy sense of honesty would be appreciated just fine, as I would probably understand your views and compromise to your level of tolerance on this forum.

I'm not posting this to fight about it, but it's something that should be brought to the attention of everyone else.

As I said in another thread - Next time then it'll just read 'Bad attitude that you have been repeatedly warned about' - will that suffice?

You see you don't see what I see in those words which greeted you on your ban.....Your words were 'I don't give a shit what anyone else thinks' or words to that effect - your ban was not therefore specific to that post you refer to above - it was a ban for another example of Kiku's shitty attitude toward others on this forum which had once more manifest itself - think of it as a result of cumulative problems - And the logic of 'Not giving a shit about anyone else's opinion' means you're here only to listen to one opinion - your own - and that's not what this forum is about - hence 'Monologue'...

See, you're piecing other unmentioned and absent reasons only after I brought this matter to light. If those were the real reasons, why not mention them, considering you did before? It doesn't make sense.

Second, if you even read the offending post, maybe you'd have gathered up the context I was talking about. I didn't care about guitarman's thought that if he polled other users on the forum, that I'd somehow find validity in his opinion of me. I asked rhetorically if I come across as someone who cares what other people think (of me). You know that, Ben, and it's way too obvious to ignore what I've explained to you to just repeat yourself. How my comment translates to "I don't care what anyone on this forum has to say and I don't care about their opinions on any subject" is made of anything but logic, sense, and fairness.

It's not really my place to say, Kiku...
I really shouldn't be saying anything at all.

But....
I think it was an overall tone that the forum is trying to abolish. Maybe it is like the scale analogy I said earlier.

When it tips too far over, it doesn't matter which bean did it.
The weight is still there.

You know how I feel about you.
At first, I couldn't believe what a jerk you could be.
In fact, I was amazed they kept you around.
The mods are more aware and balanced then I originally gave them credit for.

Then I began to see your intelligence and how very astute you are.

I think you are unique and yes, extremely bright and well read...
But you know if ya don't give a shit about others -why bother to tell them that?

I roll my eyes daily around here...
(I think we all do)
But there is no need to tell the room what I think about someone if I don't like them.

I mean, I never told you I thought you were a total jerk -I just tried to stay out of your sights.
If I told you I thought you were a jerk, would you have cared?
No..

But I would have weighted the board down with my own negativity.
Does that make any sense?

1) We don't have to inform you of anything - if you fuck up then tough you fucked up and no-one else.

2) The forum control panel does not have unlimited space for typing in an essay when someone gets banned. You got what seemed most appropriate at the time but now that you're here you can have a fuller explanation...

I won't wast my time responding to you again, and if a ban should arise again it will be permanent and it won't be explained.....

Exactly, so why is it that I received the ban for saying I don't care? I would think with that analogy, the offending user who instigated the negativity would be to blame...

Oh dear - if you're referring specifically to the thread which brought about your latest downfall then maybe you will have noticed the 'other' was banned too - why don't you just carry on posting and the let the nice boys and girls who Mod here get on with their job?

Yeah well...
Again, I think it might have been something that just added up.

I think they just want this board not to be filled with constant negativity.

I bet if the user who pissed you off started tipping their scale, well...they might get a perm ban eventually -as well.

Well Ben, I suppose I'm gathering exactly the kinds of reasons and obvious personal dislike of me you won't say out loud.

If you're going to ban me for frivilous and embarassing reasons like what I posted, then you should've at least made up something a little more credible or just not have left anything at all. But greeting me with what you did, with a paraphrased comment twisted out of meaning and context, comes across as an excuse to ban rather than a deserved justification for it.

guitarman was the user that instigated the comment I responded to, which you paraphrased as reason for the ban, and I don't think he was banned...

Oh sorry our fallibility showed through - I'll call in the Mods tomorrow and we'll have a group hug session and concentrate on reaching perfection (for your exacting standards I'll try to get us all to perfection real soon).....

No need for the sarcasm overkill to escape the fact that you're mixing in and making up different matters at the last minute to justify a previous ban that was founded on looking to ban me with any excuse. I don't care if another user was banned or not banned, I was simply pointing out how your story doesn't make sense.

Kiku...
They really don't have to explain shit to us at all, you know.

I think we are fortunate that they do.
I've been to boards where you are lucky to get any explanation at all.

I’d just be happy to be back, if I were you…
Really.

Jeez would you listen to yourself? What makes you think any of us give a toss what reason you're banned for? What makes you so important that we 'need to justify it after the fact'? If we wanted you out you'd be gone - that simple, no reason or 'excuses' necessary....as for making things up to justify it after the fact read this -
I've banned both kiku and truthstranger for 48 hours - truthstranger for telling another member to 'shut the fuck up and get their fingers out their asses' - and kiku for his 'shitty' attitude......

That was part of the post I made in the Mods forum only 5 minutes after you were banned....now if you so much as raise your eyebrows at it or call into question it's integrity you will be banned permanently right here, right now because ALL the Mods have seen it and all were aware of the time and date on it.....Your call Kiku......

Believe me - you're not important enough to 'make something up' for.....

I suppose the confusion I'm dealing with is that you banned me for a comment you paraphrased in a thread where another user, not truthstranger, had instigated it. I don't know why you're repeatedly threatening to permanently ban me for questioning the ban so I can gather some sense of why it deserved it, but I'll let it go because I've said what I wanted to say already.

Kiku, Ben said that you got a ban for your cumulative attitude. From all I have read of you, you have been unkind to others since your first day here.

Well Ben, I suppose I'm gathering exactly the kinds of reasons and obvious personal dislike of me you won't say out loud.

Once again, as I have seen on this forum and on many other forums, when someone gets a ban for being consistently mean and rude in tone to others, they often say that they think it is because the mods do not like them.

No, Kiku, it seems to me it is because you are often overly-horrible to others, not because the mods do not like you. I am sorry to have to post this, but you usually come across as very mean to people.

I don't think the word "mean" is fair. I'm honest and consistent, and my views are largely unpopular but confident.

Then maybe a period of introspection is necessary? Silver is not the only one who holds that view...The greatest gift that God could gie us an a' that?

I'm very introspective and aware of myself. If I come across as mean or rude, those aren't my intentions. I don't do what I do to be mean or rude.

Actually Kiku...
That's what I became aware of; as I read your posts.
I see that in you and realize that you aren't aiming a verbal gun at people, per say.

It’s easy for people to misinterpret your meaning by your often times -harsh wording.
Maybe it wouldn’t hurt to think about how people are affected by your particular demeanor.
Ya know?

I know you don’t really care how people see you.
But the thing is, if you want people to read you (Universal) sometimes you have to consider how they will construe your words.

I think you actually have a vast amount of knowledge…
Might be nice to see other people get that, as well.
