Ya'll wanna read an extremely funny, sad, sick, twisted, really surreal essay?

It's called "THE CONSPIRACY" by Rev. Ivan Stang
Don't let the name fool you...

This probably won't go over too well considering that it's long and filled with all the passion of a rant but with a surrealist bent.

Anyone familiar with “The Church Of Bob” won’t want to miss it!

Was a great read. Thanks for that. Everything said was frank and true. I truly wish the best for us as humans but i fear it's too late. All we can do at this point, in my opinion, is just prepare for the crash landing.

Awesome read! Where do you find this stuff?! He kinda reminds me of Bill Hicks, who was also known to 'rant' occasionally...

Haha, I thought you were talking about a different book called "The Conspiracy," Daniella. Another same-titled book was written by someone belonging to Westboro Baptist Church (the "god hates fags" cult), elaborating the facts that AIDS spontaneously arose in Africa, author Truman Capote brought it to America from having an orgy with an African tribe, and infected John and Robert Kennedy by playing football with them at the White House. Marilyn Monroe was also an AIDS casualty because JFK had slept with her. So, the CIA murdered all three of them to prevent the spread of AIDS in America. I know...

I was very relieved you weren't talking about that piece of literary accomplishment.

I appreciate your effort in locating this essay and your thoughfulness in recognizing its potential value when you decided to post it. There is a lot of truth contained within its message. I thought it more 'real' than 'surreal'.

It is obvious to me that the writer has a lot of pent up anger, hostility and aggression. I see these same emotions expressed in many of the posts I read. It saddens me to think how pathetic, lonely and unhappy these people must be. It seems obvious that the writer also feels anxious, frustrated and helpless in his attempts to improve the worlds' situation.

In my opinion the only realistic way to improve the world would be by trying to educate people in the effective ways of improving ourselves on a moral/spiritual level. We could all start by trying to be a little more loving, kind, considerate, empathetic, understanding and tolerant of one another.

There is a saying: 'A sure sign of maturity is when we become lavish in our praise while becoming stingy in our criticism.' In order to be willing to be educated we must first feel the need. The last thing the Ego feels the need to improve upon is Itself.

I believe the depth of our happiness can be directly traced to the degree of personal freedom we feel we possess. To do this we must come to truly know ourselves. We often fail to see that we build the trap, bait it and spring it upon ourselves by the ways in which we habitually think, act and react to things. No person is free who cannot control themselves.

I would like to think that 'civilization' will win out, but we must first act 'civil' towards one another before we can reasonably expect an improved outcome. After reading Mr. Stangs' essay I don't see how some people can still wonder why ET does not try to make overt contact in an attempt to help us out of the mess we've made of this planet.

Well...remember I did say it was sad and twisted.

Still brilliant and so was Bill Hicks, right?
Darkly twisted and so full of answers.

Look, it's dark out there.
It's only gonna get darker, so find your light and never let it extinguish -through despair, fear, hatred.

No matter what!

I love people of the light who only talk of the positive.
We need those people terribly because the scales are indeed tipping.

The balance is there.
I'm sure of it.
