(Edited repost from my journal, I really thought I should put this up here for interested parties. I think it's brilliant.)

____

I have a pretty bizarre life all in all, but lately it has been almost unexceptional (with a handful of possible exceptions). In fact, it's been [subjectively] dull for the last month or so, bordering on almost normal. Still, every now and then my "boring" existence is peppered with moments that leave me sort of flustered and boggled. Perhaps these unusual episodes are just mundane and we're merely having a contradictory perception of them. Nevertheless they entertain the Neolmas (my boyfriend) and I.

But whether or not other odd events are present in our (or just my) life, there is always the so-called synchronicity. Now, this can - and does - happen to anyone, but we've gotten to the point where we (the boyfriend and I) are trying to document the always extremely overwhelmingly common episodes. Being an atheist, I'm simply not about to relinquish my views of random chance as opposed to cosmic synchronicity, but even I have to admit when it's gotten weird.

We have gotten to the point of setting up the Winamp playlist on shuffle while playing any movie, TV show, documentary, or video clip we choose. The results are always nothing short of astounding, but because of the huge size of the file that I would need to render and upload in order to "prove" -- perhaps fruitlessly, since it could also be faked -- our case, we've never before gone public with any evidence either way.

But that changed when, one night, a friend of mine sent me a link to the twisted "Russian Experiments in the Revival of Organisms,"* and this time, by 'accidental chance,' my shuffled Winamp playlist synchronized with it without my even trying or planning to have the two play together. Somehow, the video started just as a tune (Pilote — or "Rarer and Bench" — "Kick It Old Schoolie") came on. That was funny enough.

It didn't stop there.

Since that was already pretty humourous to us (Neolmas and I) so I kept it going. What followed occasionally had us in hysterics, but I mostly sat with my jaw agape. Perhaps we just are batshit insane, but it seems to me that it's already astounding that the video and the music, which remained on random shuffle the entire time, began and ended with only 2 seconds difference between the two.

It was just too good. I went back and recorded the entire line-up (crossfade and all) and shoved it on to the video, without altering either in any way**. What you see below is what happened. Potheads with your "Dark Side of Oz," EAT YOUR HEARTS OUT.

Song list is as follows:

Rarer and Bench (Pilote) - "Kick it Oldschoolie"
Orbital - "Doctor ?"
Maus - "Databass"
The Flashbulb - "Walking Irrevocable"

Enjoy.

* The video is real, and if you've never seen it, be warned that it is pretty damn gruesome. There is a severed dog head in it.

** Note that the samples in the songs, and the music at the end of the video do clash.

Craziness. Alot of it is quite subtle, but some of it is just nuts.

Especially when they are reviving the dog. So many things just sync right up....crazy.

I have to admit, I've never gone further than putting my music on shuffle and turning the volume on the TV down. But I usually only do that when people are dancing. smile.gif

Sorry to resurrect but....yeah. I did put a warning on it. Though that's not what I was concentrating on at the time. wink.gif It still amazes me to watch it.
