Hi A-U MEMBERS.
Would anybody here be interested in doing a global sky watch .
We are trying to set up via web cams showing different areas around the world the night sky .
Each person would have their own post and link to a pop up window showing there web cam view of the night sky . We are hoping that lots of people will join in across the glob . If interested leave a post here
All you need is a little faith . Cheers to all a-u members .

I'll join when I buy my new laptop so i can throw this trashy one out... Stupid 6 month old obsolete trash!

Anyways, keep me in mind. I live in a high traffic area of planes as there are two major and one minor airport(s) within 30 minutes of driving to the west, east, and south. It'd be interesting to see how many aren't easily dismissed as planes.

Webcam at night? The average webcam has a lux value of like 35. You need a special rig like a camcorder with IR filter. Or at least a camera with 1-3 lux value.

I can just set my digital camera up for direct, live feed... No problem in Numaul-land.

Thats what I meant. A digi camera will do if it has a low lux setting. Most do these days. But webcams are crappy old technology. I have like 5 video camcorders laying around. I have a really old one I bought in the late 80s but has a very nice picture. Only problem is, it has a scratch lens. Its also the size of a procam that the news uses. I suppose i could use that and run it to my tv card and use vegas to record it. its good enough to pick up stars. Its just sitting in my closet right now. Only problem is, For security reasons, I dont want to leave my computer on all night. What are we looking for anyways?
