I was banned for 48 hours for posting something in the political subjects that wasn't liked by the moderator(s) who didn't even have the guts to tell who they were so that thanks to them, my indignation hesitates between at least 5 persons where perhaps in case of 4 of them I feel it may be undeserved.

I was using a lot of smilies which are of a warlike character, in order to depict a battlefield like situation a bit like this but more extensive there were really massive armies of dozens of smilies in this work of art now lost.
:bazooka: . . . .. . . :tank: :soldier: :soldier: BANZAI! :soldier: :soldier: :soldier:

and 2 atomic explosions underneath made up from keyboard characters with smilies nauseating under it, a bit more than depicted here.
:eek::surrender :sick: :ill:
The scenario ended with something like this
:surrender::surrender::surrender::surrender:
:hippie: :hippie: :hippie: :hippie:
Which is not entirely unlogical of course.
I don't exactly remember what I made but I do know that it was very much like I described. Sadly this masterpiece got lost and I have to cherish it now in my heart only. It was the best thing I ever did!

In fact if I would have described the scenarios in words I'm pretty sure it wouldn't have been banished. For the elements I have woven into this jewel of depicting art, were things others said in words and I took some for my own pictorial combination.
And therefore I might hesitantly conclude that they don't like artistic expression as such... Remember (after doing some homework) that at least 2 of the main moderators have an artistic activity. Now I wonder to what extent it is for art as such or their own egotrips. Both I guess, not fully either extreme. Anyway they don't care that much for art to save others'.
They present themselves as pseudoscientific enough not to ask questions about how to interpret it where I clearly said things like "a possible scenario would be the following..." and it makes some sense even though the chance is low it's not unconceivable. What I do have to admit is that I tried it with the means available: Smilies. They are sometimes laughing so it may be easily taken as a joke.
The measures: I got banned for 48 hours. I reacted pretty soon after by email, but it didn't get my ban lifted. They apparently have a distrustful attitude towards my ability to adapt or learn, I reacted probably just after a few hours that these kind of messages wouldn't be posted by me anymore, but apparently they are distrustful to well-thinking fellow human beings and their capability to learn other than walking the right direction by putting the rest under current.
No dice.
Or they even love to punish others longer than necessary for they could have known within few hours that there was a chance to solve this mildly. No dice.

The message of my banishment:
"You have been banned for the following reason:
For silly animated posts - banned 48 hours - those were serious threads.
Date the ban will be lifted: 10-21-2006, 09:00 PM"

"THOSE WERE SERIOUS THREADS"

The serious threads were:
- Korea's nuclear test
- What if the US would retreat from the occupied lands
- What if about the US civil war.

Spare yourselves the trouble to look what I posted for it has been censored away and got lost by the "tooth of time".
When the topics took speculative turns, I added my own speculation of a possible scenario in animation by smilies.

THEY DON'T PRACTICE WHAT THEY PREACH

If I would be raised by such people as a kid I would end up pretty confused. I'm glad I wasn't. Just take a look at the smilies at anyone's disposal, under "More" if you post a reply. There is a complete arsenal of military smilies with weapons. And remember, they have to be used in an unserious manner. If it's not unserious it's outright hateful. What I don't understand is (if I would attach any value to their arguments)
- You may not use them as a joke in serious subjects
- you may use them as a joke in unserious subjects
If they are used seriously they express outright hatred.
If they are used unseriously they express making fun out of war. For amongst the weapons are types that are used by the military (bazooka) or even forbidden in modern warfare (flamethrower). Remember that my banishment resulted from using them in WAR related topics....

So you have to use them in an unserious (funny) manner, that's the message of the forum rulers.

Look at this! :flamethro Funny huh??
Or this! :trollblas Unserious huh?
Perhaps the normal firing rate of a bazooka is not funny enough...
:bazooka:
And to give a multicultural touch to the weapon-horniness of the moderators we get this :tribal:
With some jokes about self-infliction if war is not enough already :banghead:
Or that you can get away with expressing yourselves as a twisted maniac :chainsaw:
And there may be people who might know more about holding a guitar than what these tools are REALLY about :minigun: :rpg:
But hey, it was only a joke but don't make a joke of it...
Well, it's the best not to take this nonsense seriously anymore and attach no value to double signals, why is it that the receiving end has always to seek out the truth while others can't or don't even bother?

So people, don't make a drawing of what you think might be a (worse case) scenario of a war, just use them in a funny way and thereby lower your threshold to the use of weapons. Tie the fate of your love for fun to weapons and then try to stop yourself from using the real ones when you get upset. If you have nothing else to do that might kill some time.

So my request to the moderators is the following:
Remove those weapons if you can't handle them properly concerning what you signal with it.

It's tragic isn't it? Would help if you could have posted your complaint in the correct forum though...or is that another example of you just 'doing as you please' and not caring but expecting everyone to be happy?

Actually I dislike similies to such a degree that I truly feel sick when a million of them are posted. They are distracting and I tend to pass over the post as if it never happened.

Forums are for words....not for silly emoticons spewed about as some sort of art show.

You were banned for picking on three serious threads and posting the following - Oh and pease don't claim 'art' as the motivator or inspiration - it's the kind of thing we expect from bored eight year olds on a wet Saturday afternoon -

(Divinespark;291051)
If the American Civil war would have lasted until today you'd have a remote chance to have the following scenario:

UNION ARMY_______________________________________________CONFEDERATE ARMY

Really very scary. But hey, the mods are cool enough to give you your post back, DS -so now you can copy and paste it and have it forever.

That's very cool for you.

Yeah, yeah...I know.
I've got a bad relationship with them.

They really piss me off, for reasons I can't even explain. I don't know why... maybe it's because I feel they are simply way over used.

I do see the advantage of them because it's very hard to get your point across in this typing land.

It's better to use them than to be misunderstood.

But I'm so used to being misunderstood that I don't think an occasional smiley is ever gonna save me.

Wel I guess some people would rather "hear" it in words rather than smilies. lol. How boring, right? Maybe it has to do with their age or perhaps they need to lighten up a bit and get out of the house and off of the pc?!

:surrender there's my white flag for peace, even though all the moderators seem to not like anything I post. (they really love it, even though they can't admit... yup. I'm conceited. But some people are worse)

Numaul... and others.. no need to be a dick.

Divinspark (dude, you must be new, I've never heard of you) but.. I like all the color. You know.. the smilies. Gosh, something different every now and then (especially for me, coz I can't get out much anymore) is actually a bit of a relief.

Anyhow, nobody should've made a big deal about it.

Oh and Ben??? I'm not a bored 8 year old, but I might've posted something similiar if I wanted to just make a small point with using so many words.

'For silly animated posts - banned 48 hours - those were serious threads.'

And among all the "seriousness"... doesn't it make you feel a little better when someone comes along that's not a stick in the mud all of the time?

heh.. watch me be banned now for the umpteenth time.

I hate when people get ticked off at you, and use the angry face smiley. You're obviously not that angry if you're using a little animation to convey your "anger."

Smilies are one of the many things I hate about the internet, right up there with porn like Goatse, Tubgirl, and Lemon Party.

Oh alright Cat....
It's not so black and white ya know.

Uptight or light....either way, you still should have respect for a thread and posting within them in a manner in which the thread is symbolizing.

Simple as that.

Not everybody tends to pass over the post as if it never happened.
But in the end the result is the same, it's removed.
Aha, glad there are still people who have a nose for ART.
