I recently came across a program that streams cable channels online, up to 30 channels at any given time, these include channels such as;

ABC
Fox
NBC
ESPN and a host of other sports channels
Comedy Central
Nasa Channel <---believe it
Movie channels
European and Asian channels...

to name a few, and best of all it's free!!
I've tried it out and so far, i've had no problems with it, so for those interested...here is the link.
