I mentioned in the Introduce Yourself forum (Hello all) that though I haven't seen any UFOs in waking life I sometimes have dream experiences where I am on a spacecraft and am shown things. Here is one example of such a dream, which happened three years ago.
Dream on 30 Oct 2000. I woke in the night agitated by some dream but could not remember it. The lack of memory disturbed me. The only images left were that every time I closed my eyes to try to go back to sleep I saw images of bald, large-eyes beings with very long arms, insectoid faces. Eventually I dredged up some common-sense, told myself i was suffering delerium because of indigestion, began to feel calmer and went back to sleep. Then this dream came: I am in a room with a small group of people. Someone unrolls a large map of the galaxy. It is a blue gey colour. A young girl begins recognising and interpreting it. I understand little of what she says (I am her carer? Or caring for other children there as well?) The girl finds or is given a jewel pendant of geometric design, ruby red. Someone gives me an amber orb pendant and says something about it being from somewhere that sounds like "Sedra" which is in the North (of where? the galaxy?). I awoke from this dream around 3am. At that time, three years ago, I tried finding out from books if there were any stars/planets called Sedra but found nothing. It crossed my mind that the name COULD have been Sedna (the Inuit goddess of the ocean - ties in with 'in the North' in my dream). So this year, a few weeks ago I was astonished when I heard the news item about a new planet being named Sedna, it seemed to have echoes in my dream of three years ago. It could all be a coincidence...but i find it interesting, so thought I'd share it here.

Trouble is Verdant...with these dreams...when they are as surreal as this (and yet you take definite positive information from it) it is difficult to actually know which are the important parts if you see what I mean?
Obviously the name was important...possibly the most important aspect of the dream....but what does the rest of it say....what do they mean? Are they just a backdrop to the event? The room itself....is it a 'normal' room? Or is it strange in some way indicating that you have in fact been taken 'elsewhere'. The child is so symbolic and you speak of you being a possible carer...is there no chance that it was in fact you? The orb, the colour of the map...what do they all mean? I say this because when conscious I believe you will then try to analyse it with a logical, conscious mind, whilst in your dream state things could be different...the rationale used would be different within the context of the dream. So whilst awake you think that Sedra was the important thing. Yet whilst asleep maybe it was the girl? The Map? Sorry if this is confusing, I'm just thinking off the top of my head. Maybe if you were to revisit the dream in a less awake state of mind it would appear different. (Although I have now put that suggestion in your mind it may in fact invalidate anything you then decide). I guess I'm saying that it's a bit like a movie in that everything is there for a reason...everything within that frame has been structured and staged to impart something to the viewer. I believe the same is true of dreams. There is no such thing as insignificance in dreams (for me) it all has to mean or symbolise or point to something. Ben |

Yes, thank you, Ben for answering. I understand what you are saying and quite agree. I have no answers yet. The dream has sat in my diary for three years until a few weeks ago when this new planet was named Sedna. The dream may or may not have any link to this event - I do not know. (plese excuse any spellimg mistakes there is a cat on my lap trying to nudge my fingers on the keyboard...maybe he is trying to get me to type what he is thinknmg...maybe he has the answer to It All...)
Certainly any of the motifs in the dream may be equally important, may be only personal to me or may have wider significance as in Jung's theory of the Collective unconscious.. I will post any further thoughts if they arise. |

(verdant) Yes, thank you, Ben for answering. I understand what you are saying and quite agree.
Well there's a first...thank you Verdant...I hope everyone takes note of that, not only do you understand me but you agree. This is a special day for the forum. Please note that should you have any dreams of a similar nature or indeed any dream that you feel has portent for the future then there is a dream diary in this forum. That way we can keep an eye on developments in relation to people's dreams. Of course these are forward looking dreams whereas the one you had relates to events past. I'm going to stop now as I realise I'm using words the definition of which I'm unsure.....that's a sure sign the medication is kicking in! LOL Ben

Ben On the subject of 'being taken elsewhere' - I do not believe that this dream indicated that my body had actually been taken elsewhere. I think it more likely that my CONSCIOUSNESS could have gone onto some other plane of awareness or even that the pictures had been 'beamed' into my dreaming mind. But of any of this I cannot be sure because I was asleep and dreaming (though, I have read in Tibetan Buddhism of the belief that even when we are awake we are still dreaming). On the other hand it could all have been cooked up by my unconscious. Unfortunately I do not recall any details of the room in the dream. |

It's a tough one to break down...especially as as I'm sure you'll agree that symbology itself is a 'cultural' thing. So not only are you trying to come to terms with a dream and the symbology therein but you're trying to tie it not only to your own culture but possibly other cultures that have permeated your mind for whatever reason.
Only you will ever open up more of it if that is possible...but I suspect you knew that anyway. Only wish we all had the same 'dream handbook' to work from...it would make things so much easier!! Ben

G'day again verdant... that's quite a dream really... Not much I can add really... other than it's just another mystery of life and the mind when things like this happen to a person...

Verdant...The dream is quite an eye opener really when you think that it happened long before the discovery of the new planet.
By the way I love your avatar...Where did it come from? |

Verdant...
I agree with your idea that this dream may come from what Jung termed the collective unconcious. I think that this dream has opened up a gateway of discovery for you -self-discovery that it is. Perhaps there is more to be known. Try to meditate on the contents of this dream everynight before drifting off to sleep. You might find that not only do you have the dream again but that it will contain new information for you! |

Thanks, iwant2believe2. I'll try that, Will post anything interesting if it comes up. I have found that occasionally, if I'm thinking about some problem or question while going to sleep, a dream will arise which seems to answer it. Sometimes this can be quite humourous - like the time some years ago when I was thinking I'd really like to serve on some Intergalactic Mission for Good. ie Save the Planet or suchlike...I then dreamed that I was on a spaceship, dressed as a waitress carrying a tray of drinks around tables at which sat all sorts of extraterrestrial beings....I had to laugh when I woke up.

Hey, anyone wanna help me with this dream? It's my most recent unexplainable one. The dream opens up with me being aware that I am walking in a line behind some people, a single file line and there are people behind me. There's someone in front leading us, I don't see their face and someone behind us telling us to keep moving. Not like barking orders, just in a casual coaxing way. As we are walking I was looking around and what I saw was that we were inside of what looked like a city, it was busy with lots of activity and beings moving fast on transportation things, don't know what they were. We were also inside of what looked like a huge glass dome thing, and outside it was empty, nothing, no grass, no trees, no living things, no birds, nothing but dry cracked dirt and the sky was darkish like at sunrise or sunset but not completely pitch black out. Somehow I just knew that there was no oxygen out there, don't know how I knew I just knew it, and we were walking down a hallway like thing, but more like a bridge with no walls or railing and there were lots of them like that that spiraled gradually up higher in the huge dome, green house like thing and everything seemed to to be made of glass, but not clear glass, kinda like a tinted greenish glass, that you can see through but wasn't solid. Then we came to a door to a room and were led in there and told to wait there. Nothing was inside the room except chairs and the people in my group, I didn't know any of them. Everyone was like zombies and I was sluggish like too but I was wondering where I was and why was I there. That room had glass walls too and we could see outside but nothing was out there except dirt. Then I turned to the lady sitting next to me and told her "c'mon let's go." I wanted to go home. We walked out the room and back out the way we came on the brigdelike hallway, we were trying to find a way to go home I guess, we were just walking, wandering and the dream just ended. I never saw the beings faces, I just knew they were different from the humans that were with me. Oh and inside the room, they would come to get people like 2-3 at a time and take them somewhere. I knew I wasn't on earth and I knew there was no oxygen outside. I can still see the place in my head now even though I had the dream like a few months ago. It looked like nothing I had ever seen before, and I dreamed this back when I didn't believe in aliens or even the possibility of aliens! LOL! I wasn't into aliens or reading about aliens and I hadn't even thought about aliens at that time, yet this dream felt like I was not on earth, and this was while I was dreaming it that I felt this way, as well as after I woke up. Why would I dream about something I didn't believe in and never even thought about? I'm a Christian and it seems like if my mind was going to make up something, it would be about angels and God and Heaven, not a place like that with aliens. LOL! |

Mysterious Rose ..this dream you had makes me think of a film that I have seen...is it possible that it has been triggered by an old memory of a dream intermingled with your own life experiences? I can not for the life of me remember what the film was but maybe somone else will recall it and shed some light on the matter...On the other hand it may be a dream visitation from Aliens.

It may sound contradictory Mysterious Rose but the best placed person to determine what your dream meant IS YOU!
Others can guess, others can maybe even (If they know a little of your background) point to things which at a symbolic level are very important but no-one will ever decipher your dream. Personally I think it is possible that this dream may not even have an impact on your life until say 40 years from now...and then you'll remember back to that dream. So in a sense trying to decipher it with the exception of the big symbols which may point to hopes, fears or ambitions that you have just now could be futile. In a sense I found it quite depressing because the arid land you described could well have been the earth but hey you got up and walked away....you know what that means??? The human spirit still says "Thanks, but no thanks. I'll do it my way!" Love it! Ben x |
