I don't think it's justified as being a war on terror. It is perhaps justified as an excuse for spending money on warfare...

I agree. And the government keeps changing their reasons! First it was al-queda, then it was WMDs, then it was saddam hussein... when will it stop?

Islamic Facism? I didn't know there was such a thing. It's more like a theocracy wink.gif

Of course, I'm not saying that the middle east is full of wonderful people, but it is not our business. We are just fueling the fire.

It doesn't matter what we do. Even if we pulled out of every single middle eastern country they would still come after us. They hate western way of life, they hate our freedom.

It is justified through the many attacks not in/on America but also in Spain, Russia, India, Israel, Britain, just to name a few and when they aren't busy attacking those who don't believe in their sick ideology they are slaughtering innocent muslims. These bastards need to be purged from the face of the earth.

Then you completely misunderstand the motives of that 'theocracy'. Go find that theocracy's literature & stated goals, and you'll see the REAL motivation.

Let's see... ah here we go. Take a look at this link: http://www.comw.org/pda/0609bm38.html

Last I checked, terrorist attacks have INCREASED ever since we went in. and by the way, "those bastards" are never going to go away. There is no "war on terror". Thousands of people have been killed because all Bush wants is oil. There will always be terror, you can't get rid of it.

Guys, please I beg you... Don't get your daily news fed from places like Fox News. That's an obvious propaganda network for bush and his cronies. Remember that time that dirt bag Sean Hannity counted down the days until Bush took office: "Only 50 more days until George Bush takes office!". Do some independent research and studies, and I think you'll see that this war is DEFINITLEY not justified.

Also, I would like to know why exactly we're in Iraq? They're not linked to al-quada, and Hussein is dead, so why are we still there? I'll tell you: OIL. Of course, if you don't like the cut and run defeatocrat answer, go watch the o'reilly factor.

I don't watch Fox News, or listen to Hannity. I get my info straight from the islamic world. I suggest you go listen to the horses' mouth as well. I'm not a fucking jeebus crispie, either.

The US policy for 'regime change' started with Clinton & the democrats BEFORE Bush took office. They recognized the threat, but were more worried about their own personal power struggle.

Newsflash: Clinton left office with a SURPLUS. There was no war when Clinton was in office.

By the way, sorry for saying you listen to the radical blow hards. My mistake. And like I said, the middle east isn't full of wonderful people, and we have no reason to be in Iraq. And what's a "Jeebus Crispie"?

It depends on how you define The War on Terror.

Did the Taliban need to be taken down? Did Al-Qaeda need to be broken up? Yes.

The war in Iraq is not a war on terror.

Generally, despite the insistance by some to the contrary, I believe terrorism should be fought with police tactics, unless there is the rare case where state sponsorship has made terrorism accepted as the norm in a country, such as the previous situation in Afghanistan.

Also, goals of this "war" should be clearly stated. "To eliminate terrorism" is not an achievable goal. To do our best to stop attacks, particularly large attacks should be the goal. Which is also one more reason the war should be fight mostly with police tactics. If you insist its a military war and make it one.. then you choose to say it LITERALLY is a war, and one with the aim of "Eliminating terrorism", really what youve done is put yourself on a permanent war footing, with all that entails.

So the attacks of 9/11 don't justify the war on terror? I hope you mean Iraq because I will agree that.

What surplus was that? The re-juggling of the national debt on paper? Yeah, I remember THAT one! What about the war in Kosovo? Y'know, the one where Clinton made sure we used up our supply of missiles and didn't rebuild any.

The 'radical blowhards' are what's making a major portion of policy in the mideast (and Europe, from what I see... all hail sharia law). WHO was jumping in the streets for joy when the dems regained congress? What groups back democratic campaigns? Look no further than groups such as CAIR, who fund international terrorism. (within OUR borders and around the world)

Jeebus Crispie is a derogatory term for christians, sorry, it slipped. I don't care too much for organized religion.

CAIR is an organization for american-islamic relations. They're FOR freedom, and I didn't see on their site that they support terrorist groups. Of course, if I skipped it up, sorry. But you're making the assumption that everyone who backs the dems are CAIR members. Personally, i'm not a member of CAIR, and I don't support the dems. I don't like democrats, and I hate republicans.
