Bruce Springsteen -Born in the USA.

I bought it when it was released. I remember hearing the title song on the radio and i thought it rocked!!! 11 years old ...lol
Then a friend of mine took me to the record store. Buying it felt almost like doing something illegal...

I begged my dad to drive me 2 hours to the nearest record store.. and bought Michael Jacksons Thriller. Two days later I left it out in mid day heat (this is when I was on the rez) and it warped. After obtaining some money in a dubious way (thats for another thread) I begged my friends father to drive us to the record store. Bought it again.. Two weeks later.. my cousin left it in the cab of a broken down truck that we had a record player in and used to hang out in.. the record warped again...

Queen - A Night at The Opera and Blondie - Parallel Lines... I got 2! And I still listen to both of them often (not the LPs cause they wore out years ago).

Kiss ~ Dynasty *p

oh man... you must have been really disappointed.

for those of you that may not know, this was the album KISS went kinda disco or some shit. it was totally glam. (god of thunder my ass.) they were tryin' to get into the whole 80's androgenous rocker thing.

mine was AC/DC - Highway to Hell and an Iron Maiden release.

Eh, it was '79... disco yes, glam... well, Kiss ALWAYS wore the makeup then. The 80's glam-thing hadn't started by then. That really didn't happen much until Motley, and a few others in L.A. followed suit. Kiss were already kind of a 70's glam/shock rock thing, like Alice Cooper, New York Dolls (the ORIGINAL 70's punk/glam), David Bowie, T. Rex, The Faces, etc..

The 80's glam/pop metal bands were a poor imitation of 70's glam rock. Hanoi Rocks are one of the very few 80's groups that got what the 50's, 60's & 70's were about. I don't think much from the 80's stands the test of time... much too dated.

Highway To Hell is an all-time classic! Brian Johnson, even though he's been with AC/DC far longer, just could never channel Bon Scott, or live up to that legacy.

I think my first Iron Maiden cassette tape was Piece Of Mind... I wore that fucker out, too!
