That thing has been in development for decades and all I've seen it do is hover while tethered. It hasn't yet 'flown' as such. They claim there are regulatory obstacles in their way, but that's just it--if regulation is such that it can't be flown, then it is just as useless as if it did not work in principle.

That is pretty cool! I wish I had one of those, I would go find all of the ET's that live in our oceans. Exploring some of their abandoned underwater cities would be fun!

I dont see that happening soon. And when you say public wouldnt ppl have to pass a hard test to get to fly these. This wouldnt be like a car at all so not everyone could fly it or afford one.

When you think about it, the test wouldn't be that hard. I bet when cars first came out ppl were like "oh my god, the tests for that are going to be so hard because it is such an advanced piece of equipment." People will get used to it.

My dad has a Popular Mechanics magazine that dates back to the year I was born with an article about the moller flying car saying it will be available soon. It should have been out by now.

Moller *&%$ rocks!! I first heard of this is a Popular Science mag 4 or 5 years ago. In there he said he wanted this thing to go on sale my 2009 (don't know if this is still his target) to the general public.

It is lightyears ahead of the car industries. They are making the same thing as they have for generations. They show no sign of being aware or self-determined. Moller is making a car that will destroy all working theories of how this should be done because he is making a car, not money. The money comes after that. It stands out in a world were everything is the same and very slowly changes if at all.

The first people to get these will be sooo lucky! No laws, or other restrictions. Do as you will, you will not be sharing the skies with anyone. This is very cool.
