1.True knowledge GOD abundantly provides.
His people he instructs and o so pstiently guides! He graciously endowed us with freewill. He kindly seeks into our hearts his truth to instill. 2. And step by step, in his own way and time, By means of holy spirit he reveals things sublime. His "faithful steward" keeps us well informed, And by such loving care and guidance our hearts are warmed. 3.Instructive guidance clarifies wrong views, And righteoushearted ones with strength and power it impues. If we adjustments in obediance make, Jehovah God will lead us for his own dear names sake. 4. We gratefully accept his helping hand, That his advancing light of truth we may understand. Jehovah God, he is our greatest friend; Assuredly he'll guide us in this time of the end. SONG NUMBER 203 (Psalm 31:3) Jehovah Leads His People |

BRAVELY PRESS ON (1 Timothy 1:12)
1.He that is faithful, he that is loyal. Never will give away to fear, But gives witness of truth with all boldness, Showing the Kingdom is here. chorus Then let's go forth. Bravely press on. Advancing truth be ourlight. Thus says Jehovah: "I'll strengthen and help you: battle for truth and for right." 2. Faithful is the force that moves us to action; Love prompts to faithfulness now. Zeal for our King keeps active in service; Selfish ambition must bow. chorus Then let's go forth. Bravely press on. Advancing truth be ourlight. Thus says Jehovah: "I'll strengthen and help you: battle for truth and for right." 3. Daily Jehovah, mighty in battle, Exhorts us faithful to be Till Armageddon destroys this old system And he has gained the victory. chorus Then let's go forth. Bravely press on. Advancing truth be ourlight. Thus says Jehovah: "I'll strengthen and help you: battle for truth and for right." |

I quite like this one but I was never sure of the rythmn,
The Lord’s my Shepherd, I’ll not want. He makes me down to lie In pastures green; He leadeth me The quiet waters by. My soul He doth restore again; And me to walk doth make Within the paths of righteousness, Even for His own Name’s sake. Yea, though I walk in death’s dark vale, Yet will I fear no ill; For Thou art with me; and Thy rod And staff my comfort still. My table Thou hast furnishèd In presence of my foes; My head Thou dost with oil anoint, And my cup overflows. Goodness and mercy all my life Shall surely follow me; And in God’s house forevermore My dwelling place shall be Ben |

This is a tebetan song of belief and freedom
perfect for this new thread. The red palace [the Potala] on the mountaintop Is the abode of the all-knowing one. Though the all-knowing one dwells in India. His blessings are all over. The light rays of the pale Moon Have pervaded the whole world. His great blessings Have made our snowy land of Tibet free, Have made our snowy land of Tibet free Opal Princess x |

I really like this one... so mystical... magical and so true...
The Prophet by Kahlil Gibran 1883-1931 Beauty And a poet said, "Speak to us of Beauty." Where shall you seek beauty, and how shall you find her unless she herself be your way and your guide? And how shall you speak of her except she be the weaver of your speech? The aggrieved and the injured say, "Beauty is kind and gentle. Like a young mother half-shy of her own glory she walks among us." And the passionate say, "Nay, beauty is a thing of might and dread. Like the tempest she shakes the earth beneath us and the sky above us." The tired and the weary say, "beauty is of soft whisperings. She speaks in our spirit. Her voice yields to our silences like a faint light that quivers in fear of the shadow." But the restless say, "We have heard her shouting among the mountains, And with her cries came the sound of hoofs, and the beating of wings and the roaring of lions." At night the watchmen of the city say, "Beauty shall rise with the dawn from the east." And at noontide the toilers and the wayfarers say, "we have seen her leaning over the earth from the windows of the sunset." In winter say the snow-bound, "She shall come with the spring leaping upon the hills." And in the summer heat the reapers say, "We have seen her dancing with the autumn leaves, and we saw a drift of snow in her hair." All these things have you said of beauty. Yet in truth you spoke not of her but of needs unsatisfied, And beauty is not a need but an ecstasy. It is not a mouth thirsting nor an empty hand stretched forth, But rather a heart enflamed and a soul enchanted. It is not the image you would see nor the song you would hear, But rather an image you see though you close your eyes and a song you hear though you shut your ears. It is not the sap within the furrowed bark, nor a wing attached to a claw, But rather a garden for ever in bloom and a flock of angels for ever in flight. People of Orphalese, beauty is life when life unveils her holy face. But you are life and you are the veil. Beauty is eternity gazing at itself in a mirror. But you are eternity and your are the mirror. Dingo Brains . |

*Psalms 98:1
Sing to Jehovah a new song, For wonderful are the things that he has done. His right hand, even his holy arm, has gained salvation for him. The 169th Song (From the "Sing Praises to Jehovah" song book of Jehovah's Witnesses 1. Sing to God the Lord a song of gladness that is new; Tell of al the great things he's done and yet will do. 2. Make a joyous shout to God Jehovah, all the earth; Sing to God your praises with jubilance and mirth. 3. Let the mighty sea and all that therein is roar praise, Let those on the earth now exulting voices raise. (*The New World Translation of the Holy Scriptures) |

This one is a very pagan song by the band Elven
Lyrics to "The Dragon" The Dragon flies on wings of night With scales that glisten in moonlight And frightful teeth of pearly white The dragon flies among us... She skims the liquid velvet skies With blue--green scales and silent cries A queer green fire burns in her eyes The dragon seeks companions... Her siren calls all men to dare To fly with her in darkened air To go with her to her secret lair The dragon's fire ignites them... Careful what you say and do Sometimes dreams will come true Magic done can have a cost And not replace the life … you've lost… The Dragon flies… On silent skies… With wings of darkness… And fiery breath! The dragon seeks… Your soul to keep… Be careful what you want… It might want you! And many follow where she leads They seek her passion for their needs With armor bright and stomping steeds She gladly takes them with her... And when they find themselves a bed With thoughts of her wild in their head They realize they were pixie led! The dragon smiles there, waiting… For dragon is Leahnnan sidhe A faerie dark and bad she be She locks the door that has no key Her laughter breaks the silence…. If you would with THIS dragon be From home and family you'll flee… Forever lost in magic be The dragon's pet…FOREVER When you go flying… With dragons………. Opal Princess xx |

Crystal
-Stevie Nicks Do you always trust your first initial feeling Special knowledge holds truth bears believing I turned around And the water was closing all around Like a glove Like the love that had finally, finally found me Then I knew In the crystalline knowledge of you Drove me thru the mountains Thru the crystal-like clear water fountain Drove me like a magnet To the sea How the faces of love have changed turning the pages And I have changed oh, but you...you remain ageless I turned around And the water was closing all around Like a glove Like the love that had finally, finally found me Then I knew In the crystalline knowledge of you Drove me thru the mountains Thru the crystal-like clear water fountain Drove me like a magnet To the sea |

Might seem strange to have a Queen song in here but it has real religious meaning for me. This is for Alison, Sweet sixteen, beautiful bridesmaid, brutally murdered.
No-One But You (Only The Good Die Young) A hand above the water An angel reaching for the sky Is it raining in heaven - Do you want us to cry? And everywhere the broken-hearted On every lonely avenue No-one could reach them No-one but you One by one Only the Good die young They're only flying too close to the sun And life goes on - Without you... Another Tricky Situation I get the drowin' in the Blues And I find myself thinkin' Well - what would you do? Yes! - it was such an operation Forever paying every due Hell, you made a sensation You found a way through - and One by one Only the Good die young They're only flyin' too close to the sun We'll remember - Forever... And now the party must be over I guess we'll never understand The sense of your leaving Was in the way it was planned? And so we grace another table And raise our glasses one more time There's a face at the window And I ain't never, never sayin' goodbye... One by one Only the Good die young They're only flyin' too close to the sun Cryin' for nothing Cryin' for no-one No-one but you Ben xxx |

You Are My Rock
CHORUS: A D F#m E Lord, let Your rain fall down, A D F#m E 'Cause You are my rock, You are my rock. A D F#m E Wash a-way the sand and the clay, A D F#m E 'Cause You are my rock, You are my rock. CHORUS 2: A D F#m E And when I fall and need something stable, A D F#m E You are my rock, You are my rock. A D F#m E I fall on my knees and lay down at Your table, A D F#m E (A E) 'Cause You are my rock, You are my rock. BRIDGE: D And when I fall, You pick me up and bring me there. E And when I'm down on my knees D E You'll pick me up and bring me back where You're my rock. ENDING: A D He's a big God. ~S&K~ |

Do not Stand at my grave and weep;
I am not there. I do not sleep. I am a thousand winds that blow; I am the sun that you see glow. I am the birds in circled flight; I am the moon that shines so bright. I am the twinkle in the sky at night; I am the rain that falls so light. I am the gentle autumn breeze; I am the one, who now is free. Do not stand at my grave and cry; I am not there. I did not die. |

Words can mesmerize, can bind, can inflame the passions, can awaken the spirit and stir the slumbering soul...if you know a poem or saying which speaks to things to often left unspoken....please post here :rainbow:
Stopping By Woods on a Snowy Evening Whose woods these are I think I know. His house is in the village though; He will not see me stopping here To watch his woods fill up with snow. My little horse must think it queer To stop without a farmhouse near Between the woods and frozen lake The darkest evening of the year. He gives his harness bells a shake To ask if there is some mistake. The only other sound's the sweep Of easy wind and downy flake. The woods are lovely, dark and deep. But I have promises to keep, And miles to go before I sleep, And miles to go before I sleep. -Robert Frost |

Little blue-eyed girl, not yet three years old, made to run the length of her parent's yard, back and forth, should she have stopped, she was severely beaten and made to run again. Finally collapsing from the exhaustion and pain, she died. Which gave out first, I wonder, her legs or her spirit?
One tale of millions told, one tear shed in an ocean of tears... Had you lived, you would have been about four now, I guess. I can not now recall your name but I remember your life and your pain...this is for you... Angel By Sarah Mclachlin Spend all your time waiting for that second chance For the break that will make it ok There's always some reason To feel not good enough and it's hard at the end of the day Need some distraction Oh beautiful release The memories seep through my veins Maybe empty and weightless and maybe I can find some peace tonite Refrain In the arms of the Angels Far away from here From this dark hotel room And the endlessness that you feel You were pulled from teh wreckage of your silent reverie In the arms of the Angels May you find some comfort here So tired of the straight life Everywhere you turn Vultures and theives at your back Storm keeps on twisting Keep on building the lies That will make up for all that you lack Don't make no difference Escape one last time Easier to believe And that sweet madness Oh this glorious sadness That brings me to my knees |

Greeneyes...your poetry reminds me of R Frost (my favorite poet). He used alot of nature theme to symbolize emotion. I think the power in such symbolism comes from our primal connection to nature, however dormant it may be, its still there and the poetry helps us feel it again. Perhaps?
RELUCTANCE by Robert Frost Out through the fields and the woods And over the walls I have wended; I have climbed the hills of view And looked at the world, and descended; I have come by the highway home, And lo, it is ended. The leaves are all dead on the ground, Save those that the oak is keeping To ravel them one by one And let them go scraping and creeping Out over the crusted snow, When others are sleeping. And the dead leaves lie huddled and still, No longer blown hither and thither; The last lone aster is gone; The flowers of the witch hazel wither; The heart is still aching to seek, But the feet question "Whither?" Ah, when to the heart of man Was it ever less than a treason To go with the drift of things, To yield with a grace to reason, And bow and accept the end Of a love or a season? |

The Day is Done
- Henry Wadsworth Longfellow The day is done, and the darkness Falls from the wings of Night, As a feather is wafted downward From an eagle in his flight. I see the lights of the village Gleam through the rain and the mist, And a feeling of sadness comes o'er me That my soul cannot resist: A feeling of sadness and longing, That is not akin to pain, And resembles sorrow only As the mist resembles the rain. Come, read to me some poem, Some simple and heartfelt lay, That shall soothe this restless feeling, And banish the thoughts of day. Not from the grand old masters, Not from the bards sublime, Whose distant footsteps echo Through the corridors of Time. For, like strains of martial music, Their mighty thoughts suggest Life's endless toil and endeavor; And to-night I long for rest. Read from some humbler poet, Whose songs gushed from his heart, As showers from the clouds of summer, Or tears from the eyelids start; Who, through long days of labor, And nights devoid of ease, Still heard in his soul the music Of wonderful melodies. Such songs have power to quiet The restless pulse of care, And come like the benediction That follows after prayer. Then read from the treasured volume The poem of thy choice, And lend to the rhyme of the poet The beauty of thy voice. And the night shall be filled with music And the cares, that infest the day, Shall fold their tents, like the Arabs, And as silently steal away. |

Snow Dreams
Turning off the light, I close the door softly. I've kissed you goodnight, Your eyes shut lightly. I've listened to your breathing, You've fallen fast asleep. Your warm, comforted, relaxed, Slumber, for it's your time to dream. I walk outside to sit upon the steps, The cool sweet wind carries my breath. The snow has fallen blankets of white, With quiet silence I take in this night. As the light of the moon dances shadows upon the snow, I listen to the calmness of the wind that gently blows. The thoughts of the day I have laied aside. There is nothing that exists, But this calm snowy night. |
