Just saw this, this is one of those simple things that science has always mist. Thinking on a small scale, as they do. But here comes a sign that they are learning.

http://space.newscientist.com/article/dn11...ic-fields-.html

NASA is is finally looking at using the magnetic field of the Earth as a heavier than air method of travel. (This is a simple but capable system) This is what "UFO"s use.

If NASA really researches this out, we may finally get a name for this kind of craft and not the oxymoron of "UFO" to mean "An identified craft of alien origin".

It’ll be the first 3 kilometer long radioactive ’polonium-210’ stocking that Humans will toss out into space? I duhnno…I hope we find a better means of using magnetic fields for space travel… Nice find SM ~rore

The first planes, rockets, cars and so on were things we would have trouble trusting today. Not to mention that the first concepts of it are bound to make anyone pause and start thinking of safety.

Most of that article is meaningless. It is the recognition that something like this can really be workable that is important. It can be made into something safe. For now, it is almost a problem, it is too far ahead of our current technological level. So for now, it is just the recognition that is important.

We have known the principles of this phenom for years, which is based on the fact that magnetic fields exert forces on electrically charged objects.
To me, it’s just a dumb and dangerous application of known technology. ~rore
