From before the pilgrims to the 20th century New England has been a hot bed of unexplained paranormal activities. From the Bridgewater triangle in Mass, to the Dover Demon also in Mass and the whole area of New England being assaulted by UFOs in the 1960s and the first ever photo of a UFO in the United States over Mt. Washington in the 1860s New England has had its share of paranormal sightings.

To this day, New England has had its share of all forms of extra abnormal entities and events from another plane of existence, or is it? The Salem witch trials were of the witches having encounters and séances with the devil. The Salem witch trial of the 1600s is an example of what this mysterious New England. There are no towns left spared by reports of witches, spooks, ghosts or even phantom cats or dogs. Even Lake Champlain in VT and the Canadian border has its own Lake monster in its waters.

DN......I spent 5 years in the "Bridgewater Triangle" when I was in College...and many friends lived there all their lives....I have not heard of any of this...maybe a few ghosts...but a "hot bed" is a stretch.....yes there is some hallowed ground from battles in the area.....but we are not exactly talking about a wilderness area.

A new theory about the Salem Hysteria.....is based on halucinations caused by contaminated grain....which caused mass hysteria and wild accusations....some of which were based on greed......I think the Salem "Witches" were all innocent of the charges leveled against them...and everything was purely earthbound in nature.

The witch trials took place in Essex,England, not sure about New England. Most of it caused by mass hysteria aswell as mouldy grain used in breads and good old superstition.Great story though the Witch Trials.

macdaddy....there was a witch trial in Salem Massachusetts in 1692.

The Ergot impacted grain causing the hysteria is generally accepted in some circles.
The conditions were ideal for Ergot formation the previous year....so IMO that is why 20 men and women were executed needlessly.

du....dudleytown is an interesting place.....what I found the odd....not scary....was how quiet the woods were compared to normal woods. I don't think those residing there want to be disturbed.

It seems that any place in the world has its share of ghost stories and monsters. The more human history the more stories.

I think it has more to do with us than anything else. Perhaps there are Ghosts or spirits. I have often wondered if we are more than the sum of our parts.

Just as the universe is pre disposed to produce suns, it seems to be pre disposed to produce life as well. On this planet wherever life can exist, it will. Volcanic vents and even ice worms in glaciers. I have often wondered if the life force is an un recognized energy metric. The soul.

May the force be with you.

I never believed in ghosts until I had an encounter with something that could not be seen that made a lot of noise. Nothing visible, nothing moving, but sounds as if there were something there. Footsteps, banging, and glass breaking.

Maybe life force is not always attached to living physical forms. An energy metric of its own.

I just don't know.

Not sure I believe in ghosts.

But I have never hallucinated or had epilepsy. Yet there was something making noises right beside me. Footsteps crossed the room. I could hear a picture being slid down the wall right in front of my face. Heard the picture frame and glass shatter on the floor.

It was a blank wall, nothing was there. Loud bangs followed. One so loud it shook the house. Then it just stopped.

At no time did I feel fear or felt threatened. I did feel like there may have been an attempt to intimidate, but after the things I have been through, that aint going to happen.

What was it? I do not know.

Perhaps we share the planet with an etherial race of beings who can exert little influence on the physical world, so they get their sport by messing with us.

Of one thing I am sure. There is a great deal more to reality than what we can percieve. We can see a little more with microscopes, infrared, x rays, ultrasonics, subsonics, and telescopes. But these are just a shadowy glimpse into what is all around us.

And I am quite sure that anyone who claims to have all the answers is deluding us, themselves, or both. For all that we have learned, we have barly scratched the surface of what there is to know.

There are more mysteries than answers. And every little bit of knowledge gained reveals even more mysteries.
