There is alot we dont now about our universe, any thing is possible.

What happens when you reach the singularity of a black hole is still very speculative to the best of minds, but what is very much determined is that you will never reach it alive, as 'spaghettification' will pull you apart long before you reach anywhere near the black hole itself. You, and anything near you (like a spaceship) will be pulled apart by the immence gravity forces, pulled into little more than a very long spaghetti-shape, obviously killing you.

I don't know what you mean by 'bottomless pit', though. It's a vague, or at best philosophical, term.

Also, I don't know why you put this in Conspiracy Theories section. It should be under Sci-Tech/ Space.

I have a black hole in my house where only one sock of a pair seems to disappear. I have a box full of odd socks...

So you are saying if you somehow find away to repel gravity or neutralize it you coul make it alive into a blackhole?

Captain-Hero: If 'repelling gravity' is even possible, then, yes, you could reach the event horizon of a black hole. This, however, is not necessarily close to the singularity at the center. After the event horizon, the physics get iffy, and at the singularity, we don't know what's happening. Indeed, we are not even sure that there is a singularity. The physics model used to describe black holes is, at best, a crude approximation of what really is there (this is not disputed).

Before Hawking changed his mind about 'information escaping from black holes', we could say that a 'super indestructible antigravity spaceship' could not escape, because by definition anything after the event horizon cannot get back. But today, we can say that that may be possible (maybe not a spaceship, but at least information of any kind).

However, the time dilation question of your 'super spaceship' when it has nearly reached the event horison says that people observing the spaceship from a 'safe distance' will see it falling for eternity. For the 'super spaceship' itself, it will just be an ordinary, normal time event.

Figure all that out, and you'll get the Nobel Prize and every other prize there is.
