I don't know if you have been keeping up with the Khaled El-Masri case, but it is bullshit that the supreme court threw out his lawsuit because of 'state secrets'. The idea that the government should not be held accountable because they can scream 'state secrets' is an extreme perversion of our entire political system. The government should be subpeonaed in order to find out wether or not the incident actually happened and if it did everybody involved should be tried under international law concerning torture and 'the salt pit' should be dismantaled with all current people detained there transfered to better prisons and be given trials. It's a disgrace - and we have one going on in Britain too - corruption trials halted because of a conflict with National Security and secrets - it's all bullshit!!! Ben |
