SHC is a truly bizarre niche in the realm of unexplained phenomena. (imo)

I recall reading that the one thing that was common of most all cases, was that they were alcoholics or were at one time heavy drinkers.
I am assuming that with just the right diet, mixed with alcohol, over time creates a situation were the body becomes very flammable and somehow, selfkindles or ignites.

To be honest mate i'm pretty stumped when it comes to S.H.C. i know ther are a few explaination floating about like what drifter is saying and the body burning like a candle...

But it is interesting and something that warant's further investigation...

don't feel bad Fen... this one has even the "experts" stumped.

the alcoholism theory seems the most likely answer. i read a book a while back same name title, Spontaneous Human Combustion.

the subject is fascinating. for me because its so damn weird. even the down-to-earth theories are pretty freakish.

there is a link in the first post to the skeptic dictionary's entry on SHC.

Notice how little SHC cases are reported lately because of advanced investigative methods? They would find the firestarter even if it was a fart in the wind.

I had a friend once who used to get hot spots on his body. These hot spots would burn holes through the clothes he was wearing. He'd feel nothing at the time though. It was REALLY wierd.

Do you know what his alcohol consumption was? If any.
