I've recently been obsessed with figuring out the Meaning of Life. I know it sounds like a futile task, but it's driving me insane. I'm simply asking you all a simple question: What do you think the Meaning of it is, and what is the actual question to the answer of the meaning?

I've several ideas on what it is:

To live life to it's fullest
To have a truly happy life
42
To do something worthwhile.

I've dismissed all of these except 42 and To live life to it's fullest.

Just wondering your guy's opinion on it.

Well, our "purpose" is to serve as survival machines for the genes that build us. However, this in itself is not a very uplifting purpose, so it is up to us to create our own purposes and goals. I highly doubt there is any universal "meaning of life".

I may come back to this later - currently all I know is the meaning of misery...you too eh Dog?

Overcoming all of your fears
Doing things that are hard and challenging
doing the right thing

That is a shame because I believe that the purpose of life is to be happy.

The meaning to life is different for each of us. I believe the meaning of life is to love one another. To help, in any way that is needed. But, of course that way of life has pretty much vanished. Neighbor helping neighbor. Coming together for a common goal. But I still still believe the meaning of life is to love one another and to stand together for the goal of having a win win situation.

I dont know what "the meaning of life is" and I dont think there needs to be one. I do know that I am looking forward to a pretty good lunch tomorrow, and that about does it for me.

In all seriousness, I dont see a "meaning"..but I see opportunity. In all of creation's history, in all the time evolution has been in motion, we are, to our knowledge (sorry I am not a believer in aliens) the first species that has self awareness and an awareness of evolution, which gives us and us alone a chance to live outside of its rules and I see that as an obligation to do just that.

In unaltered creation, evolution is nasty, mericiless and wasteful. But we are not subject to its merciless wastefulness anymore. We are the first species that can decide for itself what code of existence we want to live by, and each of us can do that for ourselves. For me, that is the meaning of life. To celebrate the fact that we are, in fact, alive.. and for all we know we are unique in the galaxy in that respect. What will you do with your opportunity?

opportunity or responsibility? and if a privilege does it not as is said so famously in spiderman come with responsibility? Maybe the meaning of life is to find the meaning of life. All i know is that i am not satisfied with a decent living as long as i see oppression i am angry i am not blind.

There is no meaning for life we are just here.

The only other thing that comes to mind is we are the universes way at learning about itself if that makes any sense.
