Now i know the reason for my nightmares and apparently if you overcome or confront the worries and fears that cause the nightmares they will go away. However in my case there is no way to get rid of the pain and reason for my nightmares. I miscarried in may and yet im still having nightmares about babies and people trying to kill us. I have moved on and learned to cope but my nightmares are tormenting me. My life now is great and college and relationship is goin fantastic... my everyday life is spot on but the nightmares wont go away. What can i do?

It appears that your subconscious has not moved on.
It looks to me that perhaps the action of someone trying to kill you and your baby in your dream, is symbolism of the events in your life for which you have no control.
You could try to overcome your fear in the dream and face your attacker.
You are but a ghost in the dream, as is everything else in it. You can not be harmed.
For me, fear, I found, fuels the nightmare. To overcome fear is to attain power over the dream.
Easier said than done...I know.

My friend, a very spiritual person, used to say that the greatest defense against evil is love. In the presence of evil, love the evil. Don't love the things the evil does! Love the presence. Show compassion for it's lost and misguided nature. These evil things live in darkness, in pain, in fear of the light which will rescue them, heal them, bring them joy. That light is love. In your dream, face the evil, imagine yourself glowing with white light, filled with love. Use your mind and imagine that you are extending that light to the presence, to embrace the presence, ease it, calm it, sooth it ... Remember that your purpose is to help and to heal.

In this case, one of two outcomes will result: (a) the evil presence will not be ready for acceptance and will flee. In which case, be compassionate and extend your thoughts to let the presence know that they are always welcome to return to enjoy the light when they are ready. (cool.gif the evil presence will embrace the light, in which case, it will no longer be a threat. Keep your motivations pure. Your purpose is not to yourself, nor to your own protection, but to the comfort and welfare of this lost thing.

Granted, this is only a dream. However, the implication is the same. In my opinion, the dreams result not only from grief over the loss of your child (who will always be your child, no matter what), but also I think a degree of anger at the unfairness of it, the injustice of the fate which, in your mind, murdered your baby.

Please accept my sincerest condolences. I don't want to give you trite or cliched words, as I'm sure you've heard them all. Please accept my sympathy.

I agree, it seems even though you think you have moved on, you are still grieving the loss of your baby.

I too am sorry for your loss, and the pain you obviously are still going through.

If you haven't already considering some counselling, perhaps this would be a good idea, so as to work through the deeper lying issues you have with the situation. These are what may be haunting you in your dreams.

I agree with that one, but with a slight caution. I....get lots of nightmares, almost every night if i sleep in the quiet. So i have noise in the background that seems to distract. But if i have for example the TV on CNN, i will wake during the days with an unbalanced fear of lets say the IRAQ situation. Or if we are trading insults with China or Korea i will be worried about Korea. I eventually worked out i was being subliminally brainwashed by the repeated news of current events. I turned the TV off, and found a classical station on the Radio with classical music, and i sleep reasonably well. Weekly nightmares are now minimal.
Works for me
