Ok give me your views on this and tell me what you think. For the past few weeks I have been having a series of disturbing dreams which appear to be somekind of alien related thing, or something else. I keep appearing in this stone black plaza with a glass roof coated with mysterious writing and pictures on it. In this plaza lies mysterious shaped objects and devices, and these blue like people with cold white eyes keep surrounding me and looking at me. They wear these silver top helmets and talk in a strange babel that its almost impossible to understand. In these experiences I've tried to talk back but I couldn't for some reason. Its not a pleasant experience and it keeps happening...

I lot of supposed “abductees” (no implication to you personally) have claimed that after they were abducted/visited, or assumed they were, that they were plagued with disturbing dreams giving detail to them what their conscious memory could not.

But that doesn’t necessarily mean anything. Your mind forming such dreams could be a way of sub-consciously dealing with something completely unrelated to aliens; our brains can make odd connections and form bizarre metaphors for things. Some sort of emotional/mental turmoil or trauma (and now one involving an abduction) can usually be the answer for disturbing images, thoughts, dreams, what have you.

Or, they could simply be dreams… we all have weird ones now and again with no specific explanation.

Wow, that is an interesting dream. I especially like the part about babbling. That's quite unusual in dreams of this kind. Alien writing is not so uncommon. How many people dream about reading? Is reading stored in an area of the brain not usually accessed during sleep? Who knows? The part about the babbling is definitely interesting.

Not being able to speak is common in night terrors, but this doesn't sound like a night terror to me. Night terrors, at least for me, tend to be a lot closer to the conscious mind. The fantastic surroundings, the unusual beings, the detail, sounds much more subconscious than a night terror.

Have you been thinking about anything or watching or reading anything that might have influenced your dreams? UFO-related?

It's also interesting to note the amount of death-imagery in the dreams. I'm a long-time student of folklore and fairy-tales, and this has some classic fairy-tale death imagery going on:

black stone, mysterious writing, blue people with cold white eyes (very corpse like, it sounds. Did they have cold skin? Were they thin?), and the babbling.

In classic stories, when people come back from the land of the dead, or when people visit the land of the dead, there's a confusion of languages (the idea being that people there speak the language of the dead, often in Christian times interpreted as the original language before the confusion of tongues at the Tower of Babel).

I wouldn't let the images bother you. It sounds like just a dream, but I'm definitely intrigued. It's very original.

I wouldn't necessarily consider it a "night terror" either, but if it's not actually abduction-related, it could still be an unconscious way of your mind working through a different kind (even if it's less extreme) of trauma.

One thing I would do if I were you is to pick up a dream interpretation book.
It may not supply all the answers, but it will be a start.
As Kirin-rex stated, what you read watch or see throughout the day will effect your dreams.
Diet can also effect your dreams as well.

Repeat dreams may simply represent things that trouble you on a subconscious level, and they are showing up in symbolism through dreams.
Take a vacation, start a new hobby, read a book about a subject you have not read or read for some timeor ?.
Any of these things or their combination should be helpful.

I know this may sound strange, but try to sleep with a small amount of light in the room or as much as you can stand. See if the dreams still tend to be morbid and dark. :alien:

I don't think that's strange, Puregrain. I've done that, and if nothing else makes me feel a little more relaxed during nightmare season. A little light can have a positive psychological effect, which in turn can have a strong effect on dreams.

Good idea.

I only suggest it because my son has Night Terror's. When he uses a light that his mother got him (which happend to be a duck light, he loves ducks) he does not have them as frequent. We done lots of research on this topic and so far this has been the best thing for him other than plenty of rest and low stress. tongue.gif

I wouldn't read too much into it mate, we often dream about things that are on our mind, sometimes that is represented in some pretty abstract ways.
My guess is that your presence on this forum indicates a particular interest in UFO's etc. Not so strange to be dreaming about aliens i think. I suffer from tinnitus due to too much loud music as a kid. So I often leave a radio on in bed, quietly in the background to mask out the ringing, when i do, i almost never remember my dreams. But if i switch off the radio, i often have nightmares. Try putting on the radio quietly in the background. But pick a station playing classical music, it can be more relaxing. Works for me. But don't read too much into those dreams, regardless of what others say. Just try to get some decent rest.
Cheers

Honestly Dundee, no one suggested read into it too deep. Just someone suggesting a book of interpurtation.

I think by his actions of asking in this thread he kinda wanted to know more about what others thought of his dreams. I only shared an opinion of giving a resolution to better sleep. I know if I were having the dreams personally I would want to know more and why not ask others?

Our subconscious mind is a wonderful place; to be able to control our dreams or go along for the ride, I myself wish to learn more about controlling rather than just a ride. :smokin:

BTW, the radio is a must for a break from the norm.. or a noisy fan.. My wife cannot sleep without one.

Thats cool, just didn't want him to get too stressed out, i have 4 kids and i know how bad dreams can be upsetting if you try to get to analytical, wasn't having a shot at anyone smile.gif
If you want to interpret then, there is lots of online stuff, here is one that looks OK. http://www.sleeps.com/ but again i wouldn't lose too much thought into it. Just try to get some rest.

Sorry, I did not mean to poke you in the eye so to speak, I was not trying to point out.. shoot.. you know what?!?.. nevermind.. Back to topic.. smile.gif

My daughter had a strange dream this morning and she seems to be having them more frequesnt as well. She is going through alot right now and is very demendaing of my time. Since I been working from home in training waiting for a new contract, I have spent more time with her then normal and she seems to want even more. I really wish sometimes I could get right in her head or any of the 5 kids that we have heads and understand their fears and pains. It is always so frustrating for myself I know to try and understand my own dreasm, but not being able to help my own kids is even more so. I will check into that site you suggested and attempt more research on this matter. My wife is better at this kinda research as my ADD kicks in and I get lost doing something else. (That is whay I get for being a programming sys admin) Thanks again for the link.
