They made us to be strong, wise. The ones who fight for a better planet, enviromentalists humanitarions, etc, are succeding.
We are given this gift, but the earth is ours too, so we have to keep the balance of what they made....the gift we have been given.
Look at animals and insects, they are given the gift of life, and in return they give back so much to the earth, look at a honey bee, what does he do? Look at birds who eat seeds and digest them into trees.
Animals and insects give so much to the earth, they keep the balance of nature, life, heath, and I will say it again balance.

We are put here, given the gift of life and the emotion of happiness.. but what do we do in return? What have we ever given back to the earth that we've taken? When it comes to the gift of life, you must give back in return for that life and that earth.

And right now, we're not only notgiving back to the earth, we're killing the earth.

Now what the Tibetan Buddhist Monks have to do with this....

I close my eyes when I'm listening to the chanting of the Tibetan Buddhist Monks...And I see and feel they have a connection with the balance of the earth and who we call the Visitors.
Go to where they live, see how its beautiful and eternalizing, full of life and lack of any unstableness....You feel invincible.

How can this be described?
I do not know.

Kelli

I have been giving this a lot of thought lately, and although you are right, i think only in part. We tend to sweep up the whole of the earths population in to one great big generalization that we are killing the earth. However if you have ever been amongst some of the worlds poorer cultures it is just not always the case. Take Indonesia, sure, the cities are just as you describe and imply, capitalistic, uncaring, sucking up resources just like any other city. But you step out of there into the country, and overwhelmingly people are just the opposite. The Hindu population seem gentle and caring and are very in tune spiritually. It really only seems to be the government and another demographic which if i name i will be nailed to the wall that is causing the grief over there. Most country people, i mean real country people here in OZ, treat the environment with a great deal of respect, if they don't it means the end of there livelihood. One f the things the his holiness the Dalai Lama often talks about is the short sightedness of society. If we think within the confines of one lifetime, we do not plan for the future, either spiritually or environmentally. People think, well i am only here for 80 years or so, lets see what i can get out of it, in this case they are inclined to misuse and abuse what they have for there own short term gain. Not caring about others or the future. But if you believe in rebirth, if you believe in karma, you know that your actions today, will effect your life now, as well as your next life. If you accept that you return again after death, well you are less likely to destroy what is here. I believe that most of the damage is done by, extremist religious groups, corrupt governments and greedy industry giants, but i don't believe this represents the silent majority of the people on earth. By and large, most people if given the chance, want to live peacefully and respect the environment. So i disagree, i think we all have it in us, a basic desire for something better, it doesn't matter if you are Christian, budhist or jew. We all pretty much want to get along. It is our governments that cause us to be how we are.
